Ok, just entered in factory service mode with my PS3chipper's ATMEGA168 dongel

Got my batch yesterday,these are even better to flash that using flip :) thanks for the downgrade hex as well man.

which .hex do you use cause previous one reported not working and ps2chipper posted only the source not the hex ?

the hex file is in the zip. its the only file with the extension .hex

got my ps3 in factory/service mode, tried to downgrade my ps3 to official 3.15 firmware but with no success. The green power led is blinking , the hdd indicator isn't.

Tried to power on in factory/serveice mode without success. My PS3 is shutting down in 3-4 seconds.

Any suggestions what to do ?


edit: with modified 3.41 i could downgrade - but will it be available to downgrade to official 3.15 with atmel168?

I compiled this one for 3.15, you can see if it makes any difference.

i did 2 successfull downgrades from 3.50 to 3.41 with modified 3.41, so the version for 3.41 is working with modified 3.41 without a problem,

can someone tell with what firmware - official/modified is running directly to 3.15 from 3.42/3.50

Sorry for the late reply, but in the hope that I can help someone else: Yes!

Go here, download the latest version, unpack it, enter the commandline folder in terminal, type "make" (without "-s). You will need gcc installed, and maybe something other build related- (build-essentilas in arch gives you what you need, can't speak for other distros.)

You wil then get a bootloadHID binary file in the same folder you can execute.
sudo ./bootloadhid /path/to/hexfile

Would be great if info like this could be aded to the OSJailbreak wiki, instead of the demo pages that are there now. (Just sent ps2chiper a mail about the lack of documentation.)

the only way to downgrade from 3.42/3.50 to 3.15 is by two steps:
1. downgrade to 3.41 with modified firmware.
2. repeat the downgrade process with standard (unmodified) firmware file for earlier versions (i.e 3.15)
