Who else has received a fake ps3key from modchipcentral?

And now they added to the description "This is for an AVR Key with yellow serial/sticker to prove its 100% authentic.". So, this is prove, that they sended a fake before

Please search in the future. I would ask modchipcentral before posting something like this. I got the email below when I asked them about it

Attatched is your serial number.

We purchased some directly from the PS3Key team. They are made in China, and then sent to Thailand to get the serial numbers put on but we got 100pcs directly from China from our supplier before they got the serial numbers put on.

As well, as soon as we heard they were to come with a serial number, we e-mailed the PS3Key team to confirm and this was their response:

"Hi Sylvester,

That is fine as the people you mentioned that you purchased from are all legit/reputable. If they said they'll send you serial numbers then they will.

Steve"

We then sent an e-mail to one of the PS3Key guys it was directly purchased from after this e-mail as well and his response was:

"I will email you all of labels you can print and attach shortly!"

so for those who receive them without labels from us, don't panic, they're 100% genuine.

We would never cheat our customers out and sell clones for the same price.

Wow the recent increase of ignorance from new posters (here's looking at you OP) is becoming too much. Please see below:

Apparently none of you complainers have EVER attempted to mod anything else but this PS3 of yours. Have any of you flamers (most of who have under a dozen posts and just registered within the last month) even ordered a modding device before in your lives?

Good word of advice: Before you go about trying to taint a good online providers name, how about you take some time to actually READ the entire thread instead of pressing the "quick reply" button.

ModChipCentral is a REPUTABLE website that has always been good to me and those who I have recommended it to. I have purchased everything from DS flash-carts to Xbox360 NAND Flash Chips from them and have NEVER had a problem with them.

Now before you guys pop a blood vessel in your little 13 year old bodies, please take the time to read the following points:

1) OMG, I've been waiting XX amount of days and haven't received my device yet. "I hate your website."

--- Your device has been shipped and now it is in the hands of CANADA'S imperfect mailing system. Not the stores fault. Be patient.

2) OMG, my device didn't come with a serial, is it a clone? "I hate your website."

--- Once again, if you can log in to this website, I'm assuming you can also read, so you should use that skill wisely. IF you were one of the people who didn't receive a serial (only 100 people which ModChipCentral CLEARLY STATED several times now) then either they have already emailed your serial, or you just get in contact with them and they will. It is as simple as that.

3) OMG, I sent an email XX ago and have not heard a response. "I hate your website."

-- OK now this is not hard. Obviously since ModChipCentral is the ONLY (edit: only Canada\USA official distributor aside from Foundmy) official distributor of the PS3KEY, there website is being flooded EVERYDAY by tons of emails asking the same questions. And these questions are most likely coming from you (yes you Mr. Complainer) who is most likely just for the first time going through puberty and your first modding experience.

Alas, they have not forgotten about you. There is only so many emails that can be answered at one time. Have PATIENCE!

4) OMG, Do I have a AVRKEY or a PS3KEY? "I hate your website"

-- Now if you have been reading, you will have found out that only YESTERDAY did ModChipCentral get confirmation from PS3KEY Team themselves (edit: as well as from communication between fellow PSX-Scene member dcemureviews) that the AVRKey's were not update-able with the PS3KEY software (which they shared with us on this very website).

If you just received your product and it works out of the box, then you have a PS3KEY! AVRKEY's are shipped blank and as such need to be flashed in order to work. AVRKey's cannot be flashed with PS3Key software, as it was NOT made for that purpose!

5) OMG, is AVRKey a clone of PS3Key? "I hate your website"

-- AVRKEY's are still official products made by the PS3KEY team, (and hence why they also come with the authenticity serial). The difference being that the AVRKEY's are just for those who want the same hardware features of the PS3Key but want to flash their own hex files as oppose to using the PS3Key software.

6) OMG, how come ModChipCentral didn't distinguish this difference? "I hate your website."

-- This is very simple. They were misinformed by the PS3Key team themselves. At first, it was understood that the PS3Key and the AVRKey were one and the same hardware wise, with the only difference being one would come pre-flashed and the other would come blank (for legal reasons).

Unfortunately, we quickly came to find out that this wasn't the entire story. The AVRKey's were blank and could not be updated with PS3Key software as we have ALL originally thought.

Once again, this information came to light ONLY YESTERDAY as the right questions were being asked and ModChipCentral (edit: as well fellow PSX-Scene member dcemureviews) were very quick to provide the right answers to (which I applaud you both for).

7) OMG, my order says AVRKey/PS3Key. Which version am I getting? "I hate your website."

-- Being as to how a lot of this information in regards to AVRKeys and PS3Keys not being exactly the same as we once thought, this is probably ModChipCentrals biggest hurdle right now.

Rest assured that I genuinely believe they will clear up the confusion if you contact them directly (through email or on their website).

I am assuming that if you ordered the PS3Key (specifically) when there were two different SKU's on their website, then you SHOULD be fine. Now for those who are ordering it AFTER they merged the SKU's on their website, this is something that ModChipCentral has to verify themselves.

Thank you for taking your time in reading this, and I apologize for the long rant. I just felt that this thread was quickly spiraling downwards and I needed to do my part in making sure that didn't happen. FYI, I also do NOT work for ModChipCentral, but I have been a long time customer and will CONTINUE to be one as well.

You can send me a 100's serials number, but i wanna UPDATE my ps3key via PC. that's it.

Thanks for the warning, BUT since ModChipCentral is listed on ps3key's homepage they should be legit.

PS3Key sent product to ModchipCentral without the serial numbers. This is not ModchipCentral's fault. If you want to complain about it, complain to PS3Key directly, since it was their **** up. They sent him a bunch of serial number stickers so all you have to do is get one from him if you ordered PS3Key from his site.

AVRKey and PS3Key are (yes, you read that correctly) the same hardware. The difference is that PS3Key has an encrypted bootloader that only allows the PS3Key firmware to be written to it. This is to prevent n00bs from bricking the device.

This is not customer support for ModchipCentral or anybody else. If you have a problem with them, they have an email address and a phone number. Use it.

As well, the serial number situation was not announced until September 20. As soon as we received the e-mail about the PS3keys with serial numbers, we thought we were sent clones and e-mailed them instantly. Here is a screenshot of what we e-mailed them a few minutes after the e-mail about the serial numbers:

bro, they sent me a legit one, i got mine today and i did update with ps3key updater and registered it and it worked perfectly fine.

I ordered mine before they put ps3key/avrkey together

so i dont know when u ordered
