Now that the PSN hole is patched, should we downgrade back to the normal Hermes v4 firmware?
I've also noticed since 4.3 that the LEDs no longer display the same when when processing the jig, nor once the ps3 is fully booted and jailbroken. The light just stays red the entire time now as opposed to before where it would alternate then stay blue once successful.

That must be because the .hex you've got was compiled before DJLO pushed his led.h fixes into evilsperms git repo. You can downgrade if you want, but the 3.50 spoof does help in not having to edit the PARAM.SFO file for some games. Up to you.

I'm using an Amtel chip on official PS3Key firmware, not HEX'ed firmware
And I was under the impression the 3.50 spoof was ONLY for online and had nothing to do with the .sfo's. Am I mistaken?

asfaik the 3.50 spoof did nothing except just that, spoof the version presented to 3.50 instead of 3.41. It had no bearing on going onto psn at all. I went on psn without it spoofing the 3.50.
I think someone else in the Ps3Key forum was having issues with 4.3 and went back to 4.2 and all was fine.
Since it is patched 4.3 is useless so if you are having problems, try 4.2.
