No need to load the hex on ps3key, already comes with it. You only need to install the backup manager and / or FTP servers using a USB stick FAT32 formated.
In future the team ps3key will release updates, then you need to upgrade your key. verify that the product is genuine here: http://www.ps3key.com/en/validate/
sorry about my english
I got mine from same place. Just put in PS3 turn power on, hit eject, perhaps a couple times
It is red led , then will turn blue
Have your package files on a USB flash drive. You will see the options to install packages under GAME in XMB
I already tried to boot the PS3 with the PS3key, that is another issue I am having. It does not light up with any lights and the PS3 boots normally. I have already validated my PS3key at PS3key website and it is genuine.

Communicate with the store you purchase it.
I tried a few times to hit eject last night. I'm going to retry it when I get home also I found on another form to remove and insert the PS3key 3x. Also gotta try this later as well. Does the flash drive with pkg files have to be plugged into the PS3 at the same time of boot as PS3 to see the pkg installer?

Per say if the LEDs were not done correctly and just didn't light up would I still see anything without a FAT32 USB plugged into my PS3 on the XMB? or will it look normal until I plug a FAT32 USB with files in?
Make sure you cut the power to the ps3 between every attempt.
Make sure there is no disc in the drive and also do not connect your external when your trying to do the jailbreak lastly make sure your not using the ps3 controller to turn it on and then pressing the eject button if you did none of these your dongle is probably faulty.
