i bought an original and was using a computer with xp to flash onto it. the first time i inserted the dongle it went to the red light so pulled it and inserted 3 times and the blue and red lights came on but now the computer wont recognise it as a device. everytime i put it in the 2 lights come on and the message comes up usb device not recognised. also where can i buy a new one if i have to?

Sorry, I can't help you with fixing your dongle. If you can't fix it then I would suggest not buying another. I would just put custom firmware on your PS3 instead.

I had a similar issue with it and I fixed it by turning the computer off then inserting the PS3key and turned the computer back on........it took maybe 2-3 minutes but it finally recognized it.
You are only supposed to remove/insert it 3 times if you have the Atmel version.

it is indeed the atmel version and i need it to remarry 3 blurays on three low firmware ps3's. i need service mode to do that. where can i get another one?
