Same here. I upgraded and tried to play Sly Cooper Collection and get a blackscreen as well. So it seeems that the spoof doesn't work at all.

The spoof only fixes so that it shows your system status as 3.55, that is it. It is not a game fixer or any thing else.

There were people who didn't like it showing you need an update all the time.

Happy New year!

I will be getting my PS3KEY tomorrow. Is there anyway to change the payload? What payload is the 4.5? Is it Hermes 4b?

Yes it is the Hermes V4 payload and you use the ps3key updater 1.1 to change payloads.

Sorry the 4.5 spoofs the PS3 into thinking it has 3.55 firmware so it won't bug you about the update

Can I use any payload or do I have to use only the payloads on the PS3KEY site? I have read everywhere that with PS3KEY only files supplied by the PS3KEY team will work. If you can use other payload please telll me what I need?

Hi guys. I recently upgraded to 4.5 firmware but seems like my ps3 is not reading it very well. I get the 80029519 error and my ps3 says it doesnt recognize the device. I had to downgrade to 4.0 again and it works fine. Any of you guys have a fix or recommendation on how to get 4.5 to work?

Ok, I looked at the support section on ps3key and it said a requirement is to have your ps3 fw at 3.41 but the ps3key features states "JIG/Service mode firmware available for downgrading and restoring PS3 firmware" so could I buy just ANY firmware ps3 and then downgrade it to 3.41?

No, the PS3KEY downgrade only works on PS3's that have 3.50 firmware or lower. So if you have 3.55 on your PS3 you currently can not downgrade.

Firstly, you don't BUY firmware - it's free. Currently you cannot downgrade from 3.55, although some of the devs are very close to a working solution, so if you are on 3.55, you'll have to wait.

If you are on 3.50 or lower, you can use JIG mode to downgrade to 3.41. If you are already on 3.41, my advice is to LEAVE IT ALONE. When other developments pop up, you'll be kept in the know.

So in short: Stick to 3.41, don't upgrade to 3.55.. yet.

i know you cant buy firmware, you misunderstood my question, let me rephrase that. instead of "so could I buy just ANY firmware ps3 and then downgrade it to 3.41?" i meant "so could I buy a ps3 with ANY firmware and then downgrade it to 3.41?"

and where could I get a hold of a ps3 that isnt 3.55? and how would I know for sure before i buy it?
