Need tutorial ps3key downgrade 3.55 to 3.41

i try'd to downgrade my ps3 to 3.41 using my ps3key to put it into factory/service mode.
Once i was in that mode, i put the file 1 lv2diag.self and the modified 3.41 PUP into the root of myfat32 usb stick.
But when i boot my ps3 i dont get the black screen as it should do.
Instead it just boots normally only still in factory service mode.
I really have no clue what i'm doing wrong.
Now i try'd to get OUT of factory service mode using the file 2 lv2diag.self but that isn't working either!
So at this point i have a ps3 in factory service mode that won't go back to retail mode, and i'm stuck in the downgrade process.
Need some help here really bad.
