FYI: PS3Key update V2 (USB firmware loader works, etc) –
Since there were lots of "I think.. it should... probably" types of comments in regards to what will work with latest PS3Key update, I wanted to put things I tested in one post, and let others know.
1) USB custom firmware loader works.
I have tested with USB custom firmware loader v0.3. After bit of trial and error, this is what worked for me:
- install USB custom firmware package
- copy dev_flash contents to root of external HDD
- modify dev_flash contents on external HDD (if you want)
- boot PS3 into jailbreak mode (as usual)
- unplug PS3Key, plug external HDD
- start USB custom firmware loader
At this point, my PS3 boots into new firmware after 15 or so seconds. To check if you are really in custom firmware mode, use file manager to browse available mount points, and you should now see dev_flash0 as a new entry (it's renamed, and dev_flash points to custom folder on external HDD). Also, browse dev_flash directory, and you should see contents of your external hard disk.
NOTE: Do not use theme colors (for example) as a way to differentiate whether you're running under 'real' of 'custom' firmware. For some reason, theme color change affects system globally, even when done from custom 'session'.
edit: ah, it probably stored theme choice on dev_hdd0, in user's folder (or elsewhere on dev_hdd0). Can't test it now, but that's wild guess, so changing color of theme should not be used as an indicator whether you're running 'real' or 'virtual' (to call it that way) firmware. If you change theme color in 'virtual' mode, it'll be used in 'real' mode.
2) "Old" backup manager and running game with disc inside BD player work
Quite few people were worried that they might not be able to use 'old' way of running games, when they apply new PS3Key update.
Well, nothing changed, you can still run the games as you did before. Just don't install 'new' backup manager, and you'll be fine.
3) LV2dump works
LV2dump also works, as expected.
Hope it helps.

Thank you. Do you know something bout the compatibility about BM2 and PS3Key?
No, but I presume it's same like with others. I don't really care about games, so I am not going to install BM2. Hopefully someone else will try.
