i.ve been informed that the index.htm file should pop up after update. my one never does this. on the updater i get the progress bar and that finishes in about half a second and then nothing else. may i have the following problemm http://psx-scene.com/forums/f181/pro...ps3keys-69459/ although my ps3 key isn't in the range of serials they have given.
EDIT - i found an update video on youtube and it seems my update doesn't ever work. i thought it was. my updater goes grey then never starts i just assumed the grey bar was it letting me know it was done. ah well send the damn thing back now. hopefully they'll arrange for my one to be picked up at the same time as delivering the replacement
Thanks for all the help guys.
Here is a thread with all of the files you will need. You will need to decide if you have the ATMEL-based version or the silicon labs version. It will be displayed beside your serial key when you log into the site. To answer your question. I guess your bootloader could be bad, but sometimes they are just a pain to update. Be sure to use the PS3Key updater 1.1 if you have ATMEL version. And remember start updater, then insert and remove key 4 times. When the key is in DFU mode the update now button will become "live" and no longer greyed out.
Hope this helps.
I would not send it back just yet. Just make sure you insert and remove 4 times to enter bootloader mode. Sometimes it takes a few tries. You can just insert it once and press update.
cheers for the link. i have the atmel based key. it definitely doesn't want to update though. it just wont start the update at all. i've tried inserting the key before i open the update ap. ii've tried inserting it after but still the same. once i insert the key 4 times i get the red/blue light and the update button is available. once i click this it takes me to the folder my udp update files are in. i select this and the gray progress bar appears and thats all that happens. after watching the tube vid i realise this progress bar should then go green. my one just sits grey. and it states in the bottom left corner "connected to ps3key" so it is definitely connected too.
