you guys have not read the 2. point!
it must be done some work on the ps3key to use it with flip
Senaxx
1. Install the Atmel FLIP program.
2. Insert your PS3Key in bootloader mode which can be achieved by shorting the RESET pin on the Atmel ATMEGA32U2 chip to GROUND as seen here. --> http://www.eurasia.nu/images/submitted/PS3KEYUPDATE.JPG
3. Windows will detect the new hardware as AVR Key (AVR DFU Bootloader) and you have to install the drivers manually, you will find them in the directory where you installed the Flip Atmel (Example: C / Program Files / Atmel / Flip 3.4.2/usb).
4. Run the Atmel Flip, and go to to device and select ATMEGA32U2.
5. Go to Settings> Communication, and click on Open USB.
6. Trough the file menu; open the Teensy 1.0 hex file you want to use.
7. Leave all options enabled and start the erasing and programming.
8. It will erase the PS3Key bootloader, and put the Teensy 1.0 hex file on it.
you are a hero!! i will test this on sunday. euresia is a trusted source... finally :-)
i just cant see where the ground is located...
I think someone posted that already and it didnt work
did someone try it yet?
EDIT: i have connected the points incorrectly.
if my new dongle doesn't arrive this week, i'll try again and post the results.

I'm sure I speak for all - many thanks for trying this one for us. I'm sure it's saved me from botching my PS3Key!!
Guess this is the last on it. I think I may get an AVR Key if things stall.
jasmart, sorry my friend, i pressed the SAVE button only 1 minute after you posted your message.
i have just found a couple of 1n4148 diodes, so i'm going to try it right now.
i was fooled once, i should have bought a cheaper clone, since the announced support from ps3key team does not exist (no exclusive loader, no 'any hex to upd', and so on).
i'm going to try it right now, the soldering iron is heating while i post this.
soon i'll post my results here, because when i first tried it, i simply connected reset to ground (i didn't read the post carefully... my expectations made me rush).
just hold on... confirmation is coming soon! i hope it works!!!
IT DOES NOT WORK.
find attached below a proof of my work, correctly soldered, it would fit the stock case, but unfortunately it seems to be another fake method.
the pc never asks for a new driver. i tried to force a driver update in the device manager, but it is refused.
and to finish, flip shows "atlibusbdfu.dll not found" when i try to make the usb connection. of course, this happens because the required drivers are not installed.
so, no decent exclusive game loader, no "any hex to upd" converter, no possibility to convert a ps3key to an avrkey without the need of an atmel programmer.
i don't need more lies or excuses... god bless the scene, i'll stick to my diy psgroopic.
