Works fine over here.. all i did is remove it 2-3 times (no waiting) and it went into update mode. Try it on other USB port?

there is a problem with some ps3keys with not lighting up maybe your blue led was shorted out try this solution on PS3Key site.

I insert my PS3Key and nothing happens. No lights, nothing! What's wrong?
Unfortunately, a small number of PS3Keys (estimated at less than 1% of the total produced so far) were shipped with a little less insulating tape than they should have been. This is causing the metal contacts on the bottom of the circuit board to short circuit on the metal case. This isn't a fatal short circuit, your PS3Key has not been damaged.

If you're part of the 1%, to remedy this problem, simply remove the PCB and affix extra tape, as shown below: (this has been corrected at manufacturing plant)

    1) Remove the blue plastic cap and bend the small metal clamps open:

    2) Slide the circuit board out of the metal case:

    3) Flip the circuit board over and affix a nice big piece of insulating tape. If your tape is quite thin, use 2 layers just to be sure:

    1. right click on the ps3key updater
    2. select the compatibility tab
    3. check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
    4. select "windows xp sp2" from the drop down
    5. select apply

right click on the ps3key updater and select "run as administrator"

Insert the pen in the PC, red light on, remove the pen after the blue one turn on.
Do this thing twice. When we do the 3rd time the blue and red light are both on and then we can put again de firmware.

be very carefull with this solution that solves the update problem with 2.2:

    1. open the case of the stick
    2. connect the reset pin with ground or case of the stick laying on the table (picture)
    3. attach the stick
    4. wait a bit
    5. detach the stick
    6. remove connection between reset and ground/case
    7. reassemble the stick
    8. try to update the normal way

    found it here

    tell us if it worked
