Can I used my old BlackBerry charger to charge my PS3 controller?

I used to be able to charge my blackberry with the ps3 controller charging usb cord. So, now i am wondering if I can use my blackberry charger to charge my controller. Its the same plug in.
This would be way better cause if I'm charging my controller i have to sit way up close in order to play a game, which sucks.

So, either the PS3 or your PC will work. Standalone chargers don't work.

False. I've used XCM Universal USB Multi-Charger to charge my PS3 controllers with no problem. The multi-charger plugs into wall socket to draw power.

I even used a Wireless Magnetic Induction Charger and neither were connected to the PS3 or computer.

OP should have no problem using Blackberry charger to charge PS3 controller. Just make sure of the voltage output.

yes, then again I think I'm pumping 10v into mine (I wouldn't recommend it though, bad on battery)
