Blue LED but no "Install Packages"
Blue LED but no "Install Packages" –
10-12-2010,05:57 PM
Just received my PS3Key today, tried it in my fat 60GB PS3 and the LED was all red.
So I updated it to 2.3 and 1.3, in PS3 they both change the LED to blue, sometimes changing to red and back to blue while PS3 working, but no "Install Packages"
Any idea what could be the problem?
(Yes, firmware is 3.41, I updated it using USB, downloaded from PS3-Hacks, checked MD5 too, and wireless/wired is broken so no way to update it by mistake!)

Thats because you need to put them on a separate thumb drive ONCE in jailbreak mode then install to your PS3! To get to JB mode you need to switch off PS3 at back insert PS3key switch on at back again then press front power button followed quickly by eject button.

Try to push Power and then Eject faster.

... but not too fast. Me and my friend were both doing it too fast. Now I hit the power and say "one hundred", hitting eject right at the end. Of course my timing of "one hundred" will be different for you.

I tried slow, fast and faster and got the same result. I have even checked YouTube to see some videos using PS3Key.
Tried another PS3Key with factory firmware and the led was always red. Updated it to v2.3 and its led became red then blue, it changed couple times and became blue in the end.
Updated first PS3Key with v1.3, same result but led order changed (can't remember the order, got lost
)
Both are updateable with no problems after 3-4 plug-unplug.
PS3 says "An unknown USB device is connected".
(I have read the instructions at PS3Key website, I turn the switch to off, instert my PS3Key, turn the switch on, power PS3 on then push eject)

Tested it on a friend PS3, it had 3.41 although he knew nothing about that, and it worked flawlessly!
Somehow the firmware I got from PS3-Hacks is patched
Breaked my PS3 which I bought just for this

Is it even possible that the fm you downloaded 3.41 is patched?

There isnt any other usb device connected while you're doing the jailbreak is it?I had this problem to till i realised my usb dongle for Guitar Hero was still in and the led would turn blue also without getting those 2 folders.

I`ve seen this problem on a friends console, i think its down to some hardware not working as it should.
My friend bought a minimus AVR got it flashed at my house, tested and working.
He called me up later to tell me that it didnt work at he`s house on a launch 60gb EU console. He came by with the console and surely enough, it wouldent allow the jailbreak to be preformed. ( just stayed red on the minimus)
I noticed that when i tried to sync (my) controllers to he`s console it was not picking the controllers up like it should. I needed to unplug and replug the controller a bunch of times before it would sync to the console.
Through the recovery menu we tried reinstalling the 3.41 firmware were it would crash at 60 - 65%, and from what i gather on this site and others, it could be a loose connection`s to BR drive, usb/cardreader or bluetooth module.
Told him to open up the console and check for loose connctions at thoose places, but havent heard from him.

pasholnahui85: Either that or hardware problem as Riseabove said, although everybody says that jailbreak works on all models!
Freazy: Tried that and many other configurations, same result!
Riseabove: Thanks for the info, so it is the hardware not the firmware.
I just bought this used YLOD-survivor 60GB to use with jailbreak, it had broken WiFi/Ethernet card too, and slowly recognizing the controller!
I was gonna fix the WiFi/Ethernet card and sell it, but someone insisted on buying it from me ... so I got rid from it now and can't open it.
After your comment, I think I will get brand new one and jailbreak it.
