AVRKey help –
10-18-2010,08:34 PM
So I just got my ARVKey and have spent the last 2 hours trying to figure out everything and so far I have a couple different Hex files to try out OpenBM 1.17.1, Flip 3.4.2 installed and the AVRKey plugged into my PC with the blue light on but when I try to open it in the Flip software it doesn't work. Is there a complete guide out there for this and why isn't it detecting my Key.

So the main problem I believe is that the Driver's aren't proper, when I go to Device Manager it is installed as 'USB Human Interface Device' and everytime I try to manually give it a new driver it says that it has determined its the best driver and it wont work. I've also tried to disable automatic driver installation in windows then uninstall the device and try to plug it in again but it keeps installing the standard driver.

I can't attest to every possible Flavor of the Month PS3Key has, but, the One I just received yesterday (18.10.10) ordered back on 03.10.10 w/24h Shipping lol! came with a Silabs Chip and was/is recognized as a USB Pen Drive and actually received a Drive Letter under Windows 7 x64.
All I had to do was delete the old FIrmware.bin File, (v1.0?) and drag&drop the new Firmware.bin (v3.0) to the PS3Key, and that was it.
This seems like a step up over the ATMEL version (to me @ least).

take a look at the stickied post just to be sure...think the avr serial number is on a green sticker while the ps3key serial is on a yellow sticker.
Am asking since even from the supplier from where I bought this bloody ps3key....he was advertising avrkeys that are programmed with flip software :S he even had instructions how to program it but all in all when it arrived was a bloody stupid ps3key

Hmm to be honest the sticker is like a greenish yellow as weird as it may sound but I will try out the PS3Key software and see if it works.
