AVRKey error?

I just recieved my AVRKey today. I'm following this tutorial to try and get my AVRKey working: http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/sho...d.php?t=331497

When i get to the "Select Communication Medium" section and I click "Open", I get an error that says "Could Not Open USB Device." I'm on Win7 64bit, and in Device Manager there is a bang on the AVRKey. It's labeled AMTel ATMega32U2.

I can't seem to get anywhere with this. As far as I know, I do have the AVRKey in programming mode, both LED's are lit up and I plugged it in 3 or 4 times in 10 seconds.

Anyone else getting this issue?

Try this:

1. Close the program completely and remove dongle
2. Once removed and closed, reinsert dongle and put it in update mode
3. Once in update mode, start FLIP
4. Follow my instructions as shown in my review @ http://reviews.dcemu.co.uk/review-av...le-331497.html
5. Now click on "Select Communication Medium" and see if that connects now.

Unfortunately, I dont have Windows 7 to try it out but I did experience something similar on my Windows Vista. I had to close the program and reinsert dongle.

I've done exactly that a few times. I even completely removed the driver, reinstalled flip, reinserted the AVRKey into programming mode and now I'm getting an issue stating that the "driver wasn't meant for this platform."

This is a picture of what I'm getting now. What the hell is going on?

Here's what happens when I try to reinstall the driver:

Try right clicking on the FLIP program and going to PROPERTIES and changing the compatibility to Windows XP or Vista.

I've tried that as well. :(

Try a different port? Sorry, I'm stumped than. My bro-in-law has Windows 7 on his laptop but I dont have any of my dongles on me

I appreciate the help. I just tried it on my wife's Vista 64 laptop (I'm on 7) and it was able to open the USB port. NO IDEA why its different *shrug*. Now to try and program it with Hermes' hex.

Well I was able to install the teensy_10 hex to it and JB my ps3 but I'm still having issues with getting the eboot.bin file to work in SSFIV. Thanks for your help. :)
