80010017 error.help needed thanxs

bit of a new one guys,
i can play any ps3 original game on my ps3 from the game disc.
but if i use rogero,or multiman from external i get this 80010017 error.any ideas,its getting to me slowly. cheers

upgrade to a custom firmware

It could be due to the game itself. Some games like SpiderMan 3 which are really old rips would pop up the error. The EBOOT.Bin is not decrypted in that case. Try running a different game and see if you run into the same error again.
