Hi guys, So I really didn't know what to name the thread or anything because I'm quite pissed right now. I've been trying to get the downgrade to work for about 5 hours know and I can't get past

"6. Wait about 3 minutes for the system to install the old FW, towards the end the power button on the console will start flashing green and then your console will power off."

The first time I waited it was flashing for app. 45 min. I tried to turn it off only to find out that it wasn't the smartest move. After I somehow managed to fix the problem that occured I tried re-downgrade it from v.3.5. I let it flash for 1,5 hours before I turned off the power. The last few hours I've tried to google/youtube how to downgrade but I've only found vague explanations and theories. I'm using a 16gb usb flashdrive (FAT32) which I read wasn't the best way... But I bought it especially for this day becuase "it was so easy to downgrade and install etc using a flashdrive" according to the site where I bought my dongle .

    The specs are:
    PS3KEY Silabs
    PS3 slim PAL
    firmware 3.5
Oh, and I bought it a year ago (I read that the newer ones were impossible to downgrade)

I'm sorry for my English, I hope you understand. Does anyone know how to get past this problem? It won't stop flashing and according to the guide it will
turn off itself after app. 3 min.

Use a different firmware if possible. What are the details of your system? Fat, slim, original firmware version, etc...

I was only able to downgrade to 3.15, not directly to 3.41. If you look on the mem stick with the pup file, there is a log that probably has an error in it, google that...

If he's doing everything proper with the flash, I guarantee he has a BRAND NEW PS3. I had the same thing, I started a thread about it, and it is stickied in the jailbreak section. I have a legit 320 slim and a bunch of games that I use for network play/netflix/hulu etc. Then I bought a 160 slim to start messing around with some emulators and stuff, fired it up and seen it was on 3.5 and thought I was all set. I had my E3 in hand and proceeded to attempt the downgrade. It obviously didnt work, and I tried every possible combination of firmware per another thread on this site. If you check the updater log it shows that the core os package has been revoked, it is reported that this effects some 3.5 and 3.42 consoles. My curiosity has brought me to wonder if replacing the core_os package in the 3.50 flash with the one from 3.41 firmware, resigning/packaging would work?

the same thing happened to me....
the green light just blinked forever...

i was on 3.50 and wanted to get on 3.41

it would not work so i downgraded to 3.15
    and it worked..

then i just upgraded to 3.41 using the same pup that would not downgrade...

so just try to downgrade to a different version and then upgrade to the version you want...

    weird, but worked for me
    good luck

Thx for the tip, the downgrade to 3.15 worked but the upgrade didn't work for me, but I'm going to try one last thing before I break down

EDIT: I tried upgrading through the ps3 update (from the 3.15). I made the PS3/UPDATE folder on the USB, everything went well until it was time to restart, now I've got the red screen of death aka "A serious error has occured. Contact technical support for assistance" when rebooting and starts installing the firmware.

EDIT2: I reinstalled firmware 3.15 from the USBdrive and upgraded to 3.40 and tried the same thing for 3.41.

EDIT3: I've pretty much given up hope. F*ck this.
