rockband 2 DLC song –
10-16-2010,12:44 PM
for some reason all of my rockband 2 DLC is not working, i have over 100 songs that i paid for, and can see them when i load the game, but when i try to play them i get sent back to the start of the game telling me something is wrong with them
anyone know how to re-activate songs you already paid for, or even re-download them from the store without being able to connect to the PSN because of the jailbreak and using 3.41?

looks like u have to be connected to PSN for your songs to re-register

i had a feeling that was the case, but what makes no sense, is in the song selection i can see all the songs, and if i highlight them they play, but as soon as you click on it to select them i get this:
the song data you were accessing has become unavailable, and the game cannot proceed without it. Your game session has restarted.

I've had this issue. It means you're missing the .rif file in the "exdata" folder that corresponds to the song. It's the activation file that the PSN gives you to play the DLC.
You would need to redownload the songs to get a new activation file, unfortunately. You must have reformatted your HDD if this happened, it couldn't of just randomly happened.

never formatted the drive. all i did was remove it, and place it on the side so i could use a larger one. when i saw i couldn't just transfer the songs to the new drive i put back the old one.
where would this exdata folder be located? i've gone through just about every folder on the system, and don't see it anywhere

ignore my last post about where the files are.
found all of them in the following location
//dev_hdd0/home/00000001/exdata/
so now that i know there are there, there has to be another reason why they aren't working

I could be wrong, but I believe you have to reactivate your DLC on the new drive. You can't just switch HDD's back and forth without the PS3 throwing a fit.

shouldn't the DLC work on my old drive then? when i pop that drive in all the songs are there as well, and give me the same error

I have this same issue with XBOX 360 Rock Band. My orig 360 died and I just took the HD and popped it into another 360 and recovered my gamer tag. Now I have to connect to xbox live in order to play any of my downloaded content. I have not tried to redownload any of them to fix the activtation since I have LOTS of downloaded songs.

I'm having a VERY weird (kind of similar) problem with my Rock Band 2 DLC, which is why I'm posting here.
I spent about 3-4 hours last night trying to figure this out, but I couldn't quite get it. I have a thread posted over in the general jailbreak section about my issue (can't post links yet cause I'm a new member).
