Repacking a PSARC –
12-08-2012,11:52 AM
How do you repack a PSARC file with the correct directory and file structure?
For example, the directory/file structure of an original PSARC goes like this:
/scaleform/blah.swf
/built/blah.pkg
/data/blah.csv
/levels/blah.lua
/built/blah.lc
/levels/blah.lua
/built/blah.lc
/packed/blah.toc
/built/blah.dat
...
etc
At least that's what's showing me in the PSARC gui tool. This means that these files/folders aren't organised.
But when I try to repack the same PSARC file, I get a different folder/file structure. It goes like this:
/built/files
/data/files
/levels/files
/packed/files
/scaleform/files
And that's it. The difference is that this list is 100% organised. This may be the reason why my game keeps crashing on me.
So, how can I tell PSARC to list/repack the correct folder/file structure?
I tried doing FILELIST.BAT:
dir /a /b /-p /o:gen >C:\WINDOWS\Temp\file_list.txt
start notepad C:\WINDOWS\Temp\file_list.txt
But that doesn't give the full structure. It only shows the directories and that's it.
PSARC tells me that I should use a .XML file to build a PSARC because the XML gives more control. But I don't know much about XML coding, anybody can give me any idea? Thanks in advance.

I'm facing the same problem, how did you manage to arrange the directory & make them 100% organized? Help will be appreciated brother! I'm using Official Sony Psarc Tool & i can't figure out still,i rearranged everything in the folder but when time comes to pack,it packs the same way unorganized :\ I used Psarc GUI to notice the roots & directories of Original Psarc, but when i repack,it doesn't gives the same structure as the original one,my psarc is already modded, only part which is annoying me is the structure part, bro i'll be soo thankful to you if you help me out,we both used the same tools Official Sony Psarc to repack & Psarc GUI to look the original structure,it's been now 6 days i can't figure out, seem's you're the only hope which can help me out,you can inbox me here! please i'm waiting, that's the only reason it's crashing on me because when a game starts,it need's certain files to load first,so if the structure isn't right same as the original untouched psarc,it will crash on you!
