ahh i see your points you want to remove some useless files like video or dummy etc. right ?
No, there are 5 chapters in the game, at the beginning of each chapter, the game requires you to sit and wait for a few minutes and install files to the hard drive, it's pretty annoying. Here's a link to what I'm talking about.

anyone managed to get it working yet?
removing the part where it crashes maybe?
I don't know if you can avoid install, but after the install you can remove the files that was copied from the GAMEZ directory.
Example: in dirt 2 there are a install of a file with 3900 MB, so you will have this file in two sides, on the install folder and in the GAMEZ folder, i simply removed the one in the game folder and get 3900MB of free space...
i already tested in other games with mandatory install and it worked fine
I'd like to know the answer to this too. What the OP means (for those who are still confused), is that some games, like MGS4, require you to install part of the game to the hdd, in order to play them. Heavy Rain does this as well...as just last night I backed it up to my hdd, and it still asked me to 'install' it when I first launched it. Since the game is already on the HDD, it would be nice to just use it from there, vs it installing the game 'from' the HDD 'to' the HDD thus eating up more HDD space in the process. I assume some games do this as a form of cache as a HDD is a lot faster than a disc, but this is completely pointless when the game is already on the HDD for disc-less play.
Really? I would have assumed that the game would look for cached/installed files at a pre-set location...and if you deleted them after the fact it would either crash or ask for them to be reinstalled...
I'll clarify what I think Toze3 is saying so we're clear...
On an non JB PS3 mandatory installed game content is saved to folder "x" which we'll call "install" folder.
On a JB PS3 you save the entire game to the "GAMEZ" folder.
If you have installed all the mandatory content and subsequently remove said mandatory install game content from the "Gamez" folder, no link is broken and the game will run fine because the game is still looking to the "install" folder which you has the game content installed to allready. This approach reclaims valuable space on your drive.
Unless Konami release the source code or a group of hackers dedicate some serious time on this game producing debug tools and searching for certain addresses relating to install points and then patching them, this is never going to happen as the game is coded to require mandatory install.
It's just something everyone will have to put up with.
