Theres people saying hackers wont gain anything out of 3.60+ is there nothing but security in those updates?
Maybe we will see something when a new update comes out with newever features that dev's might be into.
hopefully something that will make homebrew better for them.
As a gamer its semi annoying to not be able to play games that are new on the ps3 due to needing 3.60+ keys.
Luckily however they come out on xbox 360 aswell or pc
the only thing the above is really really bad for is console exclusives
which then i guess the only other way around that is buying another console which will take a while.
If devs ae so sceared of Sony they should just do all this work underground and release it when its finished if they don't do this already.
i.e. no online communication even mirc is now monitored. unless they find something better more secured and all.
Ild say the Scene is in a semi asleep state. yes theres been amazing progress
but i dont get the point of QA flagging as really i dont see what doors it opens for me as it still wouldnt let me play newer exclusives.
that and the fact of backing up a 500gb hard drive in order to do it.
**** 3.60 keys, **** THEM.
We need the NPDRM keys 75% of the scene wants.
How does that mean it's stopped? Xbox 1 still has development, wii still has development, 360 still has development, PS2 still has development. All of these consoles are either old and have a current replacement, or are going to get replaced really soon. Wii already has a successor now which will be out in the next 1-3 years. But you see developers still using it right? Just because a new console comes out, doesn't mean the scene will die. I mean hell look at the PS2 scene. While yes it's slowed down ALOT it still has people working on things. So does the PSP which also has a successor.
I just don't see logic in that statement. People still use old computers for development right? Yes. So why does newer tech automatically mean people will automatically QUIT using it? I just don't understand it. As the newer platforms will take awhile to hack. So I just don't see how you can say that. PS4 will probably take quite awhile to hack because of everything that has happened. Or it will be EXTREMELY restrictive. So that still leaves PS3 development.
Without the 3.60+ keys, we will have an ever shrinking amount of games we can play. There are several future games that I want to buy and play but won't be able to unless a 3.60+ CFW comes out. Those games I want to buy are PS3 exclusive. Look at the 360 scene, it continues to grow and continues to allow the newest games to play on JTAGged 360s despite the fact that Microsoft patched the JTAG hack more than 2 years ago. I simply don't have the funds to buy a another PS3 just so I can play the latest PS3 games. Heck, I live on social security and don't have a job besides the occasional freelance computer repair job. If I want to play a game, I buy it, but without a CFW 3.60, I won't be able to play them.
"Don't want to stick their necks out..."
Gosh, you sound like a spoiled brat. Have fun with that. If the scene is dying, it's because of people like you. Le sigh.
