Possible (minor) Borderlands 2 mod
Possible (minor) Borderlands 2 mod –

I made a small thing for BL2 (on PC) a while back. Check it out on youtube: watch?v=uMA1tb4Bc64
It decreases the chance of finding lower-rarity items and increases the chance of finding Purples and Oranges. Not just in chests, but from mobs too.
I can do the same thing for PS3, in theory. I already know I can mod the file. I just need to know if the PS3 will except it. I had a look at the game's eboot, and I don't see any obvious checks for the modded file's SHA hash (which is something the PC does have).
Would anyone be willing to help me test? I'm out of town for the holiday, and don't have access to my PS3. I'd need someone to upload a relatively small file (about 10MB on the PC version, i think) from the PS3 version of BL2. On the PC, its name is Startup[DOT]upk (WTF psx-scene... that filename triggered the no-link-posting-for-you filter), but it might have a different (or no) extension on the PS3. It should be located in a folder named something like: \WillowGame\CookedPCConsole\.
I'll edit the file and then send it back. If the game loads, then the edits should work. If that works, then I have a couple other things that might translate over as well. And I could always post the method for other people to play with.
I suppose I could always wait until I'm back home to try it, but I get pretty impatient when I have an idea I want to try.
