Hello everyone. I just recently encountered a problem and I've been trying to find a solution via google, but no luck. I stumbled across this forum and thought maybe you would be the right people to ask.

I live in Norway, but have a US PS3 and PSN account.
I borrowed Red Dead Redemption from my cousin, and didn't really ever think about that he's probably got a PAL PS3 and that RDR would also be PAL. Even if I had thought about that, I didn't know this problem would occur.

Okay, here goes: I have put a lot of hours into RDR now and have completed just about everything. Loved the game, and thought I would check out the DLC stuff as well, especially Undead Nightmare. That's when I realized there are some issues. When I check DLC from the ingame menu and go to the PSN store, everything is blank. I clicked my way manually to RDR and downloaded a free DLC and installed it. It still doesn't show up in the ingame menu. After thinking about it for a while, I figured it is probably because the game is PAL and I'm using the US PSN store. I created another (PAL) account and tried again. Indeed it worked, I can now download and install DLC content and play. Problem is that this being another account, I don't have my save...

I really don't want to start over, so tried copying the save from one account to another, but just got an error message when trying to load that.
Anyone know any solution to this? I would prefer a legal, no hacking way if possible, but I will consider all options
I was thinking maybe if I buy US RDR? Then DLC would work, but I'm guessing the PAL saves will not be compatible?

    Thanks

Just an FYI, whatever you download from the PSN store can be used on your other accounts as long as you keep the User on your PS3.

Ex: (I've bought JP and HK psn cards before, and I have a User with a JP/HK account created to redeem them, whatever I download from that store, I can use on my main account as well, with no issues.)

Just keep in mind the region you buy your games in, as you will most likely have to use that regions' PSN store to get any DLC to use.

    Thanks for the reply

I actually thought about that. As I mentioned I installed the DLC with my EU account and checked that it worked. After failing to transfer the saves, I tried logging back in with my US account to see if the DLC showed up there as well, but unfortunately it did not...

Weird, as that seems to be the exact same thing that you did. Maybe there's something with RDR?

EDIT: I had a look at Rockstar homepage, and found something about this in the FAQ:
Downloadable Content is region-locked, meaning that it will only show up in-game if it matches the region of the disc. If your PSN account is registered in a different region (based on the address you provide when signing up) from your disc, you will not be able to use the DLC with that disc.

Guess it basically tells me I'm screwed, unless I can use my save with a US version of the game...

If you have a PAL disc, and you created a PAL PSN account and downloaded the DLC, it will work on any of your users/PSN accounts on THAT specific PS3 as long as it was installed and you keep the User on your PS3.

I think you might be misunderstanding something, but trust me, a lot of games have some sort of region coding going on with regards to DLC (LittleBigPlanet's DLC bought on the EU PSN store will not work with a US Disc for example).

I think I understand, but it will only work with any PAL users that I have. I do only have one PS3, and I now have two accounts, one US and one PAL. I downloaded and installed the DLC with my PAL account, and it works with my PAL account, but doesn't show up on my US account at all. I guess if I make multiple PAL accounts, it will work on all those, but not with any US accounts. Maybe it does with other games, but not RDR.

Sorry for the late reply and bump, haven't had a chance to play much games lately...
Am I correct in assuming I need to jailbreak my PS3 for that save to work? I tried copying it to a usb stick, but when trying to copy it to the PS3 it told me the data is corrupt.
