Thanks to everyone that has contributed in getting NFS playable at last - truely great times!

Just to post my experiences as I suspect others may get the same.
Using regular Hermes V4B the game boots fine until you update to 1.01 which is necessary if you want to use a Logitech wheel.

When booting 1.01 it will complain that it needs to be firmware 3.50.

I changed to a spoof payload to try and get around it. But then it just black screened on loading rather than requesting 3.50.

If you delete the update game data it plays fine again.

Have other people experienced this or is it just me?

    i have 3.41

I've read your post and I honestly can't understand how that could work.

First, I cannot unself the EBOOT.BIN you posted .... i get invalid type: 00000008
I tried win & linux unself, and I've been able to unself all the eboot's from my games, so this is the first I can't unself.
With what version did you sign it?

I tried to unself to check what did you change the path to because, I can't understand part 2:

If you changed the patch to dev_hdd0\NFSHPS3\USRDIR how in G* name can the game run when you move it to dev_hdd0\game\BLES00949 ?
What you did on previous step, was, in theory, to fool the eboot.bin to look for the game files on dev_hdd0\NFSHPS3\USRDIR and not on dev_bdbd\blablalba.

I'm sorry, but I'd really like to understand because either I'm doing something wrong, or that shouldn't be able to run this way ....

    Thanks.
