I been messing around trying to add custom soundtrack and it works but it only last about a minute before it cuts off and doesn't repeat and it's just silence. Maybe somebody can find a solution to this problem.

    what you need.

    1. GoldWave - Audio Editor, Recorder, Converter, Restoration, & Analysis Software
    2. http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...udio_codec.htm

    1. Install goldwave
    2. install the atrac3
If youre on windows 7, you have to rename the atrac3.ini to atrac3.dll and put both the atrac3.dll and atrac3.acm into the goldwave directory.

Open up goldwave and then open a song. then click on playback rate to change it 14000hz. anything higher and the song will play super fast and it also made a tupac song sound like white people rapping.
Now go to save as and chose the save type .wav and attributes as ATRAC3.

Now change the file format of the song to .at3 and rename it to any of the bgm you want to change. ryu is bgm_cr_000.at3

    the bgm are located in
    BLUS30410\PS3_GAME\USRDIR\nativePS3\sound\bgm\sour ce

for stage bgm you dont need to change the hz for bgm_st_002.at3 for example but you will for bgm_st_002_b.at3 as it goes super fast. changing the stage bgm is pretty useless since you only hear the characters bgm.

Sounds like you need to set loop points in your track via another program. As for the song cutting off early, not sure what to do there. Could be resolved by the same method as above, or could persist even after the fix. Really depends on how the game handles the tracks.

Here's a short video of it. Hopefully someone can find a way to play the full song with loop.

I don't have the game to mess around with right now, but you can try this file. It's just a 35 second sample that loops from end to end and with loop point data inserted into it. Let me know if it works or not. Oh and you'll have to rename the file since I don't know MvC3 naming system.

Check the annals of PSP hacking. You can use these same techniques to make custom music for XMB game icons on both the PS3 and PSP (snd0.at3). Let me google that for you

i changed the music from mvc2 ps2 version and was really easy, dreamcast version was even easier. i might try mvc3 later on, but the bgm isnt that bad compared to mvc2 imo

Yeah I stuck with the same principles more or less when I made my file. I was surprised I still had the same software I had when I made my own custom PS1 eboots way back when.

Yeah, changing around ADX files was pretty simple. Seems like it still is pretty simple to swap out tracks in MvC3. If I had a copy to play around with I would test the theory.

There is a program you can use called "GWAT3(Generar Loop musica continua)" which will loop the sounds for you once they are in at3 format.
Once that is done they will repeat without stopping. I just did Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD and it works fine(although a bit loud). The only catch here is that your sound needs to be no longer than about 50 secs and you need to manually edit so the loop sounds right.
Also, it seems like the stage bgm can be any length but I can't figure out when it ever plays? I can play the mod in the sound gallery under stages, but I never hear them in the game that I can tell. hrmmm...
But anyways, do a google search for that program I mentioned and you will solve your cutting off/not looping problem pretty easy. Hope that helps.

~Someone needs to do this for Street Fighter 4 instead, the music in that game is so forgettable and generic.

They really should have included the option to turn on the old Street Fighter 2 soundtrack, anything below Turbo Edition that is. Super Street Figther 2 etc had some pretty lame remixes.
