Me and my buddy used the same setup and steps, and all worked fine.( 2 Slims, 1 Phat)
We are on Kmeaw-3.55, Latest Multiman v1.13.04.

    1. So we placed disc into PS3.
    2. Started up the Multiman With the payload already on
(set the options to load as soon as multiman is started)
    3. Then backed up game onto the Internal PS3 Hard drive.
    4. Removed disc after it was done
    5. Then used Multimans Permission Fix on the Little Big Planet Backup
    6. Placed a different Blu-ray game in the PS3.
    7. Then selected the game (LittleBigPlanet2 Backup) and Hit X
    8. After booted back to XMB, I selected the Blu-ray disc that had changed to
    LittleBigPlanet2....

try latest Rogero 7.9a BM. I've had problems with others but so far every game has worked in Rogero's. LBP2 can be launched without a disc using Rogero's for me.

no just launch via Rogero's, no need for modified eboot or pkg install..
