Think about it... if you actually own the original game why the need for a cfw? And im pretty sure that 90% of the users on this site pirate something if not ps3 games... which make it hard to believe that a person with a cfw ps3 would actually have intentions of buying the game.
So being honest with ourselves who can say the legitimately own your ps3 backups and why back them up when you can play them on the disk... plz dont say anything about the speed because it isnt THAT fast...
Hypocrites are welcome

I actually make backups of the games I have, only because I want to keep the game in its original form, and scratchless. There is something very sexy being able to jump around from friends house to friends house with a portable hard drive in the palm of my hand, with just GBs of pure Sony PS3 game fun. xD

lol I see.. and I actually put this in the wrong section :/ but you can say that most ppl on here dont have the game... and they want to give others a hard time about buying the game even though they didnt

i own all my games too (thought i was one of the only ones, lol)

also like the fact of just whacking my external into my pocket when i go to a mates house instead of bag full of games (i used to take all the disks out and put them into a little disk folder thingy but even that was effort)
not to mention that whenever we have a big gaming night the people i play with have the attention span of a 6 year old child on crack in a hurricane and constantly change what game they want to play which is a lot easier to swap through in multiman without having to get up every 10 minutes to change them over only for them to say '.... actually can we play........'
lol
these nights also inevitably lead to lots of alcohol and dont really want things (especially £40 games) to get broke,
my friend has already gone through 2 laptops being broken by his daughter in the last month
so yeah, i back them up to keep them in good condition, easy to transport and in my particular case... mostly not having to get up to change games all the time because yes, i am that lazy
but would still agree with the op that that most people probably dont own all their games
its not piracy if you dont own a sword or a parrot

I would say most people are full of crap if they say the only games they have on the HDD are of ones they own. I download as many games as I can, If I like it I buy it, if I don't I may leave it on my drive for the kids to play and when they are done I delete it, if game companies spent more time making games that people would purchase and drop the price so they were affordable I would happily buy rather than download, not to make me a happy bunny, but so they can play online if/when they want. All those who cry piracy and say they never have or wouldn't are lying or have more money than sense.

All the games I had on Multi-Man were games I own and owned. I can't really download any games since they are usally ~ 10 gigs and it takes me 4 hours per gb. And back ups are good for you games get injured some how or you lost your game, or got them stolen.

I'll be honest since this is suppose to be the honest thread. Yes I don't own ANY of the games I got backed up. For many reasons. That's all I will say. This discussion alone is kind of pushing the policies a bit isn't it? lol And I guess I'm the only one that is honest. I have nothing to hide. I'm proud of it. I feel it's proper, I see nothing wrong with it. Most of the games I get I end up getting rid of. Like Duke Nukem, I played it a bit got stuck and ended up not really liking it so I deleted it. And the fact you can't rent games anymore to try them out is another reason to pirate. I literally have no video stores in this state that rent out video games. And even if I did I couldnt try out new games. Since I'm on 3.55 cfw I can't try new games without patching them. All the new games have 3.56 to 3.66 pups in them.

Think about these:
1. So I can play games that are emulated from other consoles. Zombies Ate My Neighbors with friends is great.
2. I can use game saves that aren't mine, considering almost every single PS3 can't transfer saves or else you can't use somebody else's saves. I can understand online accounts, doing this for singleplayer games with no online is just stupid.
3. Showtime allows me to watch more video formats that normally don't work on the PS3.
4. I can modify special game files and run them as a backup of the game only, the disk won't have the modified files. There are many modifications. You are in this forum section and actually asking without pointing that out yourself?
I'm don't know anything about rebug though since I first installed kmeaw and have been too lazy to switch over. Odds are that rebug has some more extra features that would be handy. I know their CFW allows you to trick a game into thinking any save file is yours. If there is every anything for peeking and poking game memory as you are playing, then you could find cheat codes for games very easily.

I admit I don't own every game. Some of the games are the games of my brother. The games are backed up for the moment we want to play the same game at the same time. We share games. Officially that's illegal I guess, but we both pay and we both play in the same house.
