Hey all,
My ps3 is not jailbroken nor do I want it jailbroken but I am hoping there is some way to find the console id for my ps3. I want this because I want to be able to use the ps3 tools collection by aldostools to mod my borderland 2 saves. I spent hours trying to figure this out earlier and I couldnt figure it out. So if you guys know of a way please let me know. Also sorry if this posted in the wrong section.

You can guess it.
It's going to be a lot easier doing that then trying to figure out your console ID with your demands.

ConsoleID can be obtained only via JailBreak, unless you open your PS3 and get to the motherboard and maybe find a sticker with your consoleID, but I doubt it.

I'll have to check this but I don't think you need your console ID to mod Borderlands 2 but you will need the Secure ID which is needed to decrypt the save files with the .SAV extension. I was able to mod my Borderlands 2 saves with the console ID inputed but I'll have to try to do it without it and see if the game will still load it. I'll get back to you later.
EDIT: You do not need your console ID to mod Borderlands 2. Simply use 32 0's in place of where your console ID would go. Contact me via PM to discuss how to decrypt and mod the save file as I do not think I am allowed to display the Secure ID here. Normally you would need to be on CFW 3.55 to get the key for the .SAV files but I already have it. Or you may contact me via AIM.
The author of the Gibbed's Borderlands 2 Save Editor has asked me to write up a tutorial on modding the PS3 saves as he does not own a PS3 to do it himself.

There was a thread on here a little while ago where a user was able to obtain his console ID by setting up a proxy server and sniffing the traffic sent to PSN.

I tried doing this but I couldnt figure it out. I got as far as using a proxy server and a sniffer but I just couldn't understand the data.

Any help you can give me to do this would be great. I was just going to break down and buy the game genie after christmas but the Gibbed editor can do way more then what game genie can do. I heard the tools by aldostools are good as well and I have them installed trying to resign some saved files that I have downloaded but I do not think it is working. It says I need the console id which is why I came here. I tried what you said about the 32 0s but I do not think it is working, but I probably do not have all the settings set up right. I tried reading the readme files but it just confuses me. I still cannot PM so I am not sure how to get a hold of you outside of this thread.
