Yeah... sucks the thread got closed, I needed some help with the DLC myself...
I bought the Taxidermist DLC about a week before the jailbreak appeared and downloaded it, but never bothered to install it. Then I forgot all about it and stopped using my PS3, it was only after 3.42 appeared that I decided to use my PS3 again to mess with the jailbreak, but sadly this meant I couldn't connect to PSN.

My question is, will the DLC still install without being online? I haven't tried yet for fear of maybe stopping it working completely. If I need to go online I guess I'm gonna have to take a risk with my PS3 and do it :/

tldr: if you downloaded but haven't installed content yet, can you do it offline?

edit: for anybody who thinks this is anything to do with piracy, it's not. I don't pirate games, I prefer homebrew over piracy (as evidenced by my own HB), hell I've never even touched a backup manager.

People, stop hating on Math & Co. If it wasn't for them we'd be nowhere, so what if they have their secrets? Remember, they could of just decided not to show anything

Is it in your games menu waiting to be installed? If so, afaik it should be fine because dlc gets activated just as you buy it and start the download.
dev_hdd0\vsh\task\0000000x should contain the pkg file of the dlc along with a couple of other files of i understand your situation correctly.
Check dev_hdd0\home\0000000x\exdata and see if there is a rif file for your dlc, it shouldn't be hard to figure out which one it is, there should also be an act.dat file.
STOP! Before you ask questions... READ the first post! RTFFP = Read The F*cking First Post
Yes, A 3.55 "jb" (cfw) is available, no >3.55 "jb" or cfw yet.
Yes, A 3.55 downgrade is available. But not to lower than stock firmware! (What it came with)
No >3.55 downgrade is out there yet.

No, it doesn't suck. It was blatant piracy and thus against the rules.

As for your question; if you legally purchased the DLC then the first thing that happened was Sony "activated" the DLC for you before downloading it. This information will be stored inside ACT.DAT on your machine and will work just fine without being connected to PSN - as cookie said, there may also be a .RIF file which is also used for activation. If you didn't purchase it and you're just trying to reword the same request, then you're SOL as without that critical data being entered into ACT.DAT there's nothing you can do.

I replied to that thread because I had read the post too fast, didn't see that it wasn't authenticating. Thought it wasn't showing up at all. My bad...
