Original news post here: http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65712 (Use 'Remote Play' on any PS3 Game Title!)

This will ONLY work if the PS3 and PSP are on the same network, it will NOT work over the internet.

    What you will need:

You must have .net framework installed to run PS3SFO.

    1. Launch Filezilla and log in

    2. Navigate to "/dev_hdd0/game/LAUN12345/GAMEZ/"

    3. All the games you have backed up on your internal hard drive will be listen select the game you want.

    4. Navigate into the "PS3_GAME" folder for the game you want to play and you will see the PARAM.SFO file.

    5. Right click on it and click download, it will now show up on your left
      panel.

    6. Rename it to PARAM-Original.SFO for precautionary purposes.

    7. You can now unzip the PS3SFO.zip file attached and run the program. You will get a warning telling you it's a beta version, just accept and you will be at this screen. Click Load

    8. Select PARAM-Original.SFO and click open

    9. You will now see this screen, make sure "PSP Remote-Play Available" is checked.

    10. Click Save

    11. You will be prompted to choose a name and location, save it as PARAM and place it in the same location as your original file.

    12. You can now close PS3SFO. Go back to Filezilla and refresh the left panel, you should now see PARAM-Original.SFO and PARAM.SFO.

    13. Right click on PARAM.SFO (the one on the left panel) and click "Upload", you will get warnings asking you if you want to overwrite the file. Accept.

You can now remote play with the game you chose.

Nice guide thanks, but it seems to me the most important part is missing ...unless I am totally missing something here. how do you start the game with remote play? can you shoiw the step by step please? Don't you need to use the Backup Manager to load the game first? I tried running backup manager, then choosing the game , then pressing X to choose, then going back to the vsh menu and seeing the backed up game there ready to load, then I tried remote play after i did that, and i got an error saying cannot use remote play for this game, did that and got no luck with a bunch of backed up games already including: Yakuza 3, Mafia 2, Folklore, Ratchet clank, Motorstorm, Haze. I must totally be missing something here. The games do run fine but remote play does nothing... any more info would be appreciated, thanks again

also i edited all the param.sfo's and double checked them ...

I am in the process of updating the guide to include this information, unfortunately I have an emergency to tend to so I will not be able to finish it until tomorrow.

So there is no need to connect to PSN on the PS3 then?? Does it just work if connected to the internet?

I am also curious about this. My PSP has always wanted to connect to PSN to use remote play. My PS3 also had to be connected.

How are you using remote play without the PSN? Is this actual play over the Internet, or are you guys in range of the PS3's wifi/local network?

Will this work with an external drive? All the guides I saw were all internal guides.
