God Of War III cheats

there are cheats for unlimited magic but no god mode....

btw god mode it's quite difficult to do...

I have not seen a release of a god mode cheat, but what about the in game cheats-- sort of. The special items that can be collected provide perks like infinite hit points, infinite magic and other special abilities. You basically only get killed if you fall off the cliffs in places that have no bottom (actually a loop plays of you bouncing there, you have to hit select and load previous check point). This is pretty close to god mode. Just download someone else's save from one of those game cheat/game save sites (google god of war 3 ps3 save game, here: god of war 3 ps3 save game - Google Search

Get one that has 100% completion with all the items collected, then use this tutorial here:

to load the save in a way that your game will use it. Or, alternatively, if you don't want to do all the sfo editing and ftping, here is how I did it.

1 download gamesave on pc
2 unzip it to a usbdrive
3 load up god of war3 on ps3
4 get to first save point, save your game, quit game
5 plug in usb drive to ps3
6 load comgenie's awesome file manager
7 use the comgenie file manager to replace all the files in the god of war 3 save game directory except the param.sfo of your own save
8 exit comgenie, pull out usb stick
9 start god of war new game and your good to go

Notes:
You cannot collect trophies with this method (who cares)
Comgenie has two modes default and advanced. I think you have to enable advanced by pushing select in order to be able to copy to the save directory. Instructions are on the screen. The background turns red when select advanced. And be careful, you especial don't want to fiddle with devflash or certain other directories unless you know what you are doing. I would not even look at other directories with the red background, in case of pushing wrong button even though it ask you to confirm copy.
In the god of war game, you must go into the menu for the special items and enable the powers that you want.(Probably not cup of Hera)
I did not invent this, just followed someone else's advice who did not want to bother with editing the sfo.
Copying from usb with the ps3's own gamesave management feature doesn't work with locked saves or whatever they are called. I think there are a few games that don't lock their saves and you can just copy with ps3 menus. (Conan, basically a lame copy of the god of war series).
I think you have to start a new game as these "cheats" are basically for people who have already won the game once and now can start a new game with the perks they have already got, but it might just work with your game already started, I didn't try.
The save directory is a subdirectory of the ps3 harddrive /home/username/savedata directory. Username is whatever your username on the ps3 is, probably 00000000001.
You may want to back up your save first. I always do.

edit: of course you really don't have to replace all the files (not the .png files). It's just easy to remember all but sfo (some games have some other weird type files).

@FNS, I just noticed that you are on rebug. There is a firmware with a save game select option in its menus. This allows you to use anyone's save with out all this. I think it's rebug, but it could have been something else with debug options. You might want to check it out.

that god of war 3 cheat only works for the japanese version of the game, as for the fake user save feature in rebug don't use it, any trophies you unlock with that feature on will not sync if you decide to sync trophies later on.

using a save file is not a cheat code, also if you use any of the in game items in god of war 3 it disables trophies.

unfortunately for the ps3 scene anything cheat related is simply ignored (unless it's dynasty warriors 7 or call of duty) you can request till the cows come home no one will care which is a real shame, cheating on my games was one reason i installed cfw. on the positive side at least we do have mods only a few games support them though, better than nothing.

oh btw there is a glitch in god of war 3 where you become invincible (with inf magic) but you have to complete ALL the challenges in the game to access the glitch, it's borderline impossible but it's worth it cause i got a platinum from it. there is a youtube video showing you how to do it, look it up, that is the only way you are going to get "cheats" in this game.

The original poster asked for CHEATS. I never said it was a cheat CODE. Maybe you don't think using someone else's save is cheating. Got it.

@FNS Don't know if you are interested, but all I could find were references to "Fake Save Owner" and "You can't Sync Any trophy Unlocked with Fake save Is on (confirmed)" for rebug. I am not on rebug so I don't know where the option is listed, I guess there are alot of options to scroll through in the menus. Good luck.

edit: I found this rather disjointed exchange on a german site, don't know if it provides any useful hints. as always proceed at your own risk, I don't know what this does.

yeah and a save file is not a cheat, it's a save file that unlocks everything for you (at a price), a cheat code enhances your experience regardless of restrictions without any consequences or penalties, see what i did there?

seriously people these days really don't have a clue what cheats and save actually mean (unless you grew up in the xplorer and action replay days), no wonder why google is so full spam when you enter the word CHEAT.
