There have been great strides with Mortal Kombat and GTA modding. Now that it's been proven that Fallout can be modded as well

This brings up something that I've been looking into off and on when I have spare time. Most, if not all of the great PC and 360 mods that have been made should be useable on their PS3 counterparts. It's going to take a little bit of work to document what can and can't be done and to gather up all of the tools and mods that are compatible with the PS3 versions.

I'm looking at all the members here who say that nothing new can be done with what we have. I'm asking that all members to look to the following sites to grab the tools and mods and to see if the tools are useable on their PS3 games and to see if the mods can be applied. As always, make a backup of anything you modify in case it doesn't work, but this is an excellent opportunity to get things moving.

    Great sites to get started
http://www.fileplanet.com - Excellent source for PC mods and tools
Xbox 360 Modding - Excellent source of XBox 360 mods and tools
http://gamesites.ign.com/ - This is an excellent site to go to game specific modding communities

The PS3 scene is what we make of it. There is still a lot that can be done but it's going to take a group effort. A lot of this is beginner level stuff so it should be something that everyone can pitch in. For the more advanced editing we have a full team of game modders here and some very knowledgeable members that I'm sure wouldn't mind lending a hand

I'm asking that any and all verifiable info about tools and mods be posted here. They will be gathered and organized so that we can get a wide range of games modded and available for all

Well, it looks like nobody's interested in this project. I have to say that it's a little disappointing to say the least. What people don't realize is that progression takes work. It's nice when things are done for you, but waiting around for someone to do it for you will get us nowhere.

To get you guys started here's a nice little app that works with most of the different archives on the PS3. It's a little dated and has trouble with some newly encrypted versions of the files but this is a great tool to start working with. It should be able to handle 80% of the different archives you'll run across
