Final Fantasy XIII-2 Save
Final Fantasy XIII-2 Save –
Okay, after a while, I decided to play on the PS3 again, and I want to decrypt my own FFXIII-2 save. I have tried the latest PS3 Bruteforce Save Data, and cannot decrypt any of the files. All other saves decrypt just fine though. As the the PS3 Save Resigner, that application is basically a crap shot, because it doesn't do anything except crash a quarter of the way through the decryption process. I even tried using all the MSVCR files from the plugin directory and a few causes an pfdtool.exe - Bad Image error. I really like aldostools, his tools actually does something, just it doesn't seem to be working for FFXIII-2 saves. How does anybody decrypt the FFXIII-2 save for proper editing? has anyone successfully decrypted the FFXIII-2 save?
make sure your config files are set up right with your console ID, the PS3 keys and make sure the games config file has the disc key for FFXIII-2 even if you're playing PSN version. If that per game key isn't there it won't decrypt. I looked at mine and I never got the key or I'd give it to you. You'd see this section in games.conf. You'd have to remove the ; in front of the disc_hash_key line and put in the value that's given from flatz's disc hash key dumper. That tool only works on 3.55 or 4.21. Make sure you grab the right one for the firmware you're on. Don't bother trying to resign it since the memory offsets are different from firmware to firmware

You should be able to bruteforce this key with aldostools bruteforce savedata, but if not you gotta use flatz's tools on the PS3
That would explain why, the saves are not decrypted. I thought all the keys were there for decrypting the save except for the console ID. I tried flatz's tools and the file was 0 bytes in size. So essentially nothing is in the file as it was a blank file. Bruteforce gave me a key that was a little different then the secure_file_id key, but still not able to decrypt. Just out of couriosity, did you have any success of decrypting your FFXIII-2 save? For some reason, the save decrypter wants to decrypt key.dat, but I know some if not all the stats should reside in app.dat file and I am able to point to it in the decrypter app, so that shouldn't be an issue.
After fiddling around with the Bruteforce Save data, the decryptor is only able to decrypt the key.dat file. I do not know what to do with the decrypted key.dat file, as that does not seem to do anything. I even tried copying the decrypted key into game.config and still nothing . Oh well at least I tried.
After trying the flatz's disc hash key dumper again it gave me a dump.bin with a disk key? At least I think it is a disk key as it's supposed to be a disk key dumper. I tried plugging it in ;disc_hash_key= and removing the ; then I tried to decrypt the save with Bruteforce Save Data. The same results, only KEY.DAT is decrypted and APP.DAT remains untouched. I am either missing something or Bruteforce Save Data is not compatible with FFXIII-2 save. Have you ever succeed in decrypting the FFXIII-2 save? This game is the only save I cannot decrypt fully, which I find quite weird. Also would you like to have the disk key that was dumped by me?

Reason: Added more info.
I have a game genie so it's pretty rare that I use the bruteforce save app. I only use it when a game's not supported with GG. Give me the disc hash key so I don't have to downgrade to pull it and I'll see what I can do with my save on this end
Okay great and appreciate your help. The file can be downloaded here and it is that dump.bin file, fresh off the data dumper. I also copied and pasted the result in the code section for your convenience, just in case you do not want to download the file.
I am trying to stay away from GG because I worry that if they decided to shut down their server in the future, then I would end up with a $30 paper weight. I already got a few dongles that are paper weight right now, and unfortunately ebay does not let you sell them on their site. Also I almost forgot that the key is dumped using the BLUS version of FFXIII-2 and on Rebug 3.55.4 firmware.
APP.*** isn't encrypted in Final Fantasy XIII-2. Copy it to your PC, modify APP.*** then put it back on your PS3.
edit: lol, if I don't put the *** in I get accused of posting links..
