Fallout New Vegas DLC Semi-Working/Textures don't load.
Fallout New Vegas DLC Semi-Working/Textures don't load. –
I do not know if anyone has tried this, but you can get Fallout New Vegas DLC to an extent, as in the level caps rise, but ability to go inside the DLC is bugged/glitched since the textures of the DLC don't seem to load up correctly.
What you do is attain any of the DLC for Fallout New Vegas that's on the Xbox360, such as a the Jtag DLC or DRM FREE DLC and extract the content from the *File* type that you get after downloading with a tool such as "Le Fluffie".
What you get after extracting is a esm file/ and two bsa type files and all you do is put that in the DATA folder in your Ps3 and edit the FALLOUT ini file accordingly. Now the DLC DOES LOAD UP, you get messages about the "Sierra Madre Radio Broadcast" and "Honest Hearts (requires you to update to 1.05game update to make it show up)" but they do show up.
Now the only problem, as I said earlier, is that upon entering the "Dead Money" content you start seeing purplish/rainbow blocks when you enter the DLC and after the "knockout upon entering the room" it takes you to the loading screen and never loads even after 30minutes of waiting. The problem with "Honest Hearts" is that you see the rainbow/purplish blocks upon being around the little cave entrance and when you see the entrance, its still closed shut and won't let you enter into the DLC.
The reason I post this is because hopefully someone could help figure out how to make the textures inside the Xbox360 DLC work on the Ps3. I have a couple of theories, one being replacing the textures inside the .ESM .BSA files with the Ps3 ones using Fallout Mod Manager since this DLC does show up, just the textures don't show up accordingly.
THIS IS HOW YOU DO THE WHOLE PROCESS IN ATTAINING THE DLC POPUP MESSAGE IN-GAME.
Here's how I edited the FALLOUT INI you'll find a line of text like this. I edited it like this accordingly with the name of the DLC content inside the " ". Don't add the " ".
STestFile3="NAME ON DLC" .ESM
STestFile2="NAME OF DLC" .ESM
Next you'll find another line of text that reads.
After the DATA/FALLOUTNV .ESM listed afte the = sign you must put the name of the files that you got from the DLC accordingly after that. . For example DATA/FALLOUTNV .ESM, DATA/"NAME OF DLC" .ESM, DATA/"NAME OF DLC" .BSA, "NAME OF DLC" .BSA, etc.. and thats it. The DLC extracted should contain "ONE" .ESM file "TWO" .BSA files. One being the main content and the other being the sounds
Then you just replace the FALLOUT INI file in your BLES*** > PS3_GAME > USRDIR folder.
After you replaced that, put the .ESM/ .BSA files in the BLES*** > PS3_GAME > USRDIR > DATA folder.
How I figured this all out is from this youtube video:
He claims they work in the comments section below, but the other comments suggest otherwise.
Hopefully someone can make something of this. I was very excited after seeing the in-game messages that the DLC did load up and traveling to the DLC destination, but my excitement soon diminished after the errors occurred.
