Editing Save Files for different Game ID's
I was playing Dead Space 1 on my PS3, with a European disc that my friend had lent me. Fast forward to months later, and I don't have the European game anymore, so I went out to Gamestop and bought the USA edition. Now my save file doesn't seem to want to work. So games are not region locked, while save files are. I backed up my USA copy and tried editing the param.sfo to various European editions of the game, then copying it back and seeing if the game recognised my save file. It did not find it, even when using Fake Save Data Owner in Rebug. I can see, and have backed up my Dead Space save file.
I think I remember hearing about a way to edit the save file for different Game ID's, as opposed to what I already tried, which was to change the Game ID to that of my save file. There are a lot of European Game ID's even for the same game, so I think this will be much easier. Problem is. I dont know how to do this, or if its even truly possible!
Could somebody help me out in getting my Dead Space save working again? I really don't want to lose my progress >.>;;
EDIT: SOLVED
The steps outlined in this tutorial worked perfectly.

The problem with my situation was that my save, and all Dead Space saves, had an extra .dat file. Make sure you copy not only the Param.pfd and User-Data.dat but also any other .dat files you may have in your saves. ALSO I recommend ditching FTP all together as it may cause problems transferring such sensitive files back and forth through different file systems. Instead, do it all from within Multiman! Go to the file manager, open up both save's and then copy the desired save data over. In addition to this, I had Rebug's Fake Save Data owner on, which may or may not help and certainly doesn't hurt your chances.
If a Mod could change this thread title and append a [SOLVED] tag to the end, I would be grateful. Also thank you for your time Sonic-Hero! I appreciate it!
