Do I need to burn games to my hdd to mod them?

Hello everyone reading this.I've been wondering if I need to buy a internal hdd or not.I just want to mod my games.

So for example to mod black ops do I have to burn it to my hdd to mod it or can I just add a patch to it because I have the disk?

Thank you for any replies.I'm not asking to be spoonfed or anything.I just want to see how much money I need before doing anything of use with my ps3.

You cannot burn something to your HDD, that statement is reserved for CD-Rs/DVD-Rs/BD-Rs etc.

Since you couldn't get that correct, I'm doubting you will be able to "mod" any of your games.
You need to know how to turn EBOOTs into ELFs/SELFs/whatever, and know what to look for with a Hex editor (and a LOT of trial and error).

That being said, if you are looking for a specific game like Demon's Souls or FFXIII or Dead Rising 2, there are threads for those games on these Forums. Look for them.

Hey sorry I said burn to hdd.Didn't mean to offend.Just kinda new to ps modding.I was just asking if I needed to install it into my hdd using multiman or ect. then modding/replacing the orig eboot for all games or can I just play with a patch and the game disk.

Game modding is easy by the way.I was just asking so I can tell if I need to buy a internal hdd.

With 3.55 CFW you don't need any patched EBOOTs, you need the original ones to run the game, and an edited EBOOT pointing to the original if you want to modify a game (ie: Omnomnom's Demon's Souls package).

PS3s come with a HDD, you shouldn't need to buy one, unless you mean to buy a larger one.

Yes I meant a bigger hdd like a 250 maybe if I had to really get one.I was just asking because my ps3 only has 32gb.

Anyway thanks for answering because I read somewhere to mod black ops I needed to replace the eboot with the given one.That's why I was asking because you need to copy the game to the hdd or atleast from what I've read/seen.
