yes the game is defintely worth modding to play. I am starting to become addicted, i like puzzle games so if you do too then it is worth it especially since it is so easy to mod. follow khaze's instructions on pg 39 to unpack the data.cpk file. This will give u access to all the files u need to mod. Then you take the modded files, which you will need to track down, im sure theire is a megaupload link somewhere in this thread, and you simply copy+paste over original files. Backup your original files too just in case. Then you use the CRI Packer (not exact name, i forget, see pg 39) program to pack back into data.cpk and with this modded file you replace in the game's usrdir folder, iirc

The only work really is tracking down the tools but the actual modding is simple. All the hard work has been done by others. If you cant figure out you can pm me and i can upload for you tonight, i have everything u need on my pc at home. sux im at work...i wanna play catherine right now

Are you referring to modding the Jap version or modding the NA version. I only have the jap version, so if I followed the method of replacing all the files and repacking them, It would work? I just need to play the game in english but I'd prefer the original Jap dialogue with subtitles.

lucky u, i found the modded files, these are what u will use to overwrite the files that are unpacked from data

I Used the files you provided and the game crashes when I try to play Rapuzel mini game... Does this happend to you too?
The rest is working great.

i forgot to say u can only play the single player, it will crash the babel mode and that other mode.

I used the english data maybe that was the problem now i'm trying with the jap data(with modded files)... when I get there I say what happend.

As the patch makes also the voices english (I suppose), what do I have to do to leave the voices on Japanese.
I live in Tokyo already over 2 years and am studying the language, but I still need to learn a lot, so that is why I would prefer to play it in Japanese with english subs.

Also since we are patching the japanese version of the game does that mean it is still the very hard version of the game or is the easier difficulty setting of the later patch and the US version included?

if you have the japanese version as your base then you will have japanese audio with english subtitles and yes it will still be japanese version so yeah its harder from what i hear. gonna play some now

i dont speak or understand any japanese but i like the japanese audio, i just like the way their voices carry when they say certain things, just sounds nicer than english. Like on level 1 when he's like "what the **** ill die?" and the voice is like "dont worry about that just start climbing" i dont know how to explain but in english i know this would carry out differently. yeah i know i just cant explain.
