    Hi all,
I have looked around and cannot find a solution to my issue anywhere on the net....I know dramatic or what!! Like many others on here I wiped my PS3 by mistake and lost my Uncharted 2 save file which I was 60% into. I honestly do not want to have to go through it all again so I hope someone can assist ;-)

I have the BCES00757 version of the game and while I can find save files on GameFAQ I have so far been unable to get any of them to work, either EUR saves or USA saves. One of the things is when I download the EUR version of the save file it comes in a folder called "BCES00509_NDI_UNCHARTED2_BT_0" but as I said above mine game ID is BCES00757 so I am straight away confused??

I did try starting a brand new game, creating a save file and then when I went to the savedata folder here on the PS3 (/dev_hdd0/home/00000001/savedata) using my FTP program I have two folders, one called "BCES00757_NDI_UNCHARTED2_BT_0" and another called "BCES00757_NDI_UNCHARTED2_BT_P" so again there is more confusion?? Is one of these the save game data and the other a profile of some sort?? Also, which one of these do I need to worry about with regard to copying over the downloaded save data? I have tried to copy over everything bar the param dot sfo file and keeping the original but each time I try to load the game I get an error about it being corrupt??

I have also tried to use PS3 Save Unlocker but to no avail?? Perhaps if someone had a BCES00757 verison of the save file a straight copy would work? I hope that someone out there has ran into this issue and solved it as I want to finish Uncharted 2 over the next few days so I can start Uncharted 3 for Xmas ;-)

    All the best,
    Mark

PS: I am using FTP to copy the files over in all cases, maybe I should be using a USB drive and copying it that way from my PC??

Change IDs (in names and SFO). All saves for U2 have the same format so it's save to swap names between any U2 version.

    This is my mini tutorial:
    PAL<->NTSC save converting

Just like in all PSX/PS2 (and probably PSP) games, it's matter only of file/folder names (of course until save format from both region is the same, if not no one than developers of this game could help with it ;] - in other words: this will not work on all games).

I've successfully do this with "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves" and "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - Game of The Year Edition" (Greatest Hits edition).

    1. Rename save folders - in this case - folder with save profile and folder with game progress:
    from "BCES00727_NDI_UNCHARTED2_BT_2" to "BCUS98123_NDI_UNCHARTED2_BT_0"
    from "BCES00727_NDI_UNCHARTED2_BT_P" to "BCUS98123_NDI_UNCHARTED2_BT_P"

As You can see, save slot it doesn't matter.

    2. Replace PARAM.PFD and PARAM.SFO from new save to old save.

    3. Run game and check if he regonize save. Play for a while to overwite save's (because in other case *.sfo will be not updated and in XMB show false info about save).

Of course save owner should be the same. If not, You must fix user accounts id, user number ids and ps3 id (if this is possible, changing IDs not work on all games).

I don't know if U2 save data is PFD protected, if not You can also easy change Your personal data inside PARAM.SFO to match You console and profile:

I have the EUR version and my directories are "BCES00757_NDI_UNCHARTED2_BT_0" and "BCES00757_NDI_UNCHARTED2_BT_P" on my PS3. The EUR saved game has only one file called "BCES00509_NDI_UNCHARTED2_BT_0" so should I rename the two directories on the PS3 to "BCUS98123_NDI_UNCHARTED2_BT_0" and "BCUS98123_NDI_UNCHARTED2_BT_P" first and then follow your instructions from there??

    Cheers,
    Mark

Every save data for U2 has two folders: "_n" (i.e "0", depend on slot) for game progress only, and "_P" for profile data (tresures, trophies, points, which levels are complete and what difficulty etc.).

Why do You want rename DIRs to names which Your game doesn't seen? Stay focus. ;P

If Your game has id: BCES-00757 and save game is for BCUS-98123 You must change folder name "BCUS98123_NDI_UNCHARTED2_BT_0" to "BCES00757_NDI_UNCHARTED2_BT_0" and id in PARAM.SFO (or use SFO from Your save).

This mean that game don't regonize save data format. Maybe our European PAL have different format than Australian PAL. I did this succesfully with BCES-00757 (EU PAL) and BCUS-98123 (NTSC/U, GH Edition).

BTW: I messed names in above post. Rename BCES00509_NDI_UNCHARTED2_BT_0" to "BCES00757_NDI_UNCHARTED2_BT_0" but this also will not help You.

    Hi Berion,
I do have BCES-00757 game version, which version of Uncharted is this? I am assuming it's EUR??

The saved game file on GameFAQs dot com under the EUR section (there is only one) when I unzip it the folder in there is "BCES00509_NDI_UNCHARTED2_BT_0" so which version is this? I would post the link here but it blocks me every time :-( It's the top result that comes up in Google when you search for "Uncharted 2 save game". Let me know if you can find it.

Does this make sense mate?I was thinking that this may all work a lot easier if I could get a BCES-00757 save data file from you or someone else as that is the version of the game I have.

    Mark
