Hi. I initiate this topic to discuss and post any new about modding the JPN release (the working one) with files from the PSN release which has no censorshop (heads off!!) and that has multi language subtitles. Many think (I am included) that experimenting swaping files would work, at least for a language swap, all we need is people who has the PSN game in an OFW and just try swaping files. I'd really love to have multi subs for RE4 specially.

PD: I've also realized that Assignment Ada is called Ada the Spy. Separate Ways -> The Another Way.
There's also only one cutscene which is not in HD, where you are at the tower (the one with gear assembly inside) and when the bridge rounds you might see the non-HD cutscene.
There's another thing which surprised me: when you play as Ashley you have the classic camera. Intresting.

sure. i first posted this on a different site, so ill just paste it here instead of re-typing. reminder that this is just for biohazard 4

    1. first, with MM or ftp, go to dev_hdd0/game/NPJ00084/USRDIR/gtf

    2. backup these 6 files (in case somehing gets messed up): eng_adjust.gtf.lfs.crc, eng_option.gtf.lfs.crc, eng_adjust.gtf.lfs.crc, and the other 3 files that have jpn instead of eng at the beginning of them.

    3. after that is done, rename the 3 files named eng_adjust.gtf.lfs.crc, eng_option.gtf.lfs.crc, eng_adjust.gtf.lfs.crc, and put jpn instead of eng.

    4. the main menu options and controls should now be in english

so the english files for the game are there, just need to know how to get them working.

Ahhh OK! I will do it. Anyway, I thought you had swaped files between the PSN version and the JPN and not only from JPN. Thanks!

just found a new way to get english subtitles in RE4. i posted this on another forum, but thought i would share it here for those who cared. all that is needed is the US save data of the game so heres what you do.

    1. download the US save data from here: Resident Evil 4 HD Save Game Files for PlayStation 3 - GameFAQs

    2. copy the save to a usb (or use ftp) and start up multiman on your ps3 and go to the file manager

    3. on the left side navigate to your usb drive and then to the save and on the right side navigate to dev_hdd0/home/0000000X (the X is for your profile id, so it will be different) /savedata/NPJB00084-JPN-000

    4. copy everything except for the PARAM.SFO from your usb to that directory.

    5. load a game from multiman, and launch resident evil from the XMB. the opening will still be in japanese but the in game subs will be in english!!!

    thanks ray13j for the idea
