F.A.Q.

- How do you flash new firmware on the device?
A. First you have to verify that your P3Free is upgradeable. Only the models labeled on the white sticker "F0/F1/F2" are upgradeable via USB. Model "F" has to be upgraded via PIC Programmer.

If you have model "F0/F1/F2" then download these files

Then follow these steps

install .Net Framework 4 and Visual C++ software.
extract the HID Bootloader 2.6b software
Open the HID Bootloader 2.6b software
Insert PIC18FUSB Device into a usb port on your Computer (XP, Vista or Win 7 32/64 OS)
Press and release the programming button on PIC 18F USB
PC should ding and load drivers for new USB device
Once PC has detected device the GUI will now allow you to "Open Hex File", select the HEX you want to program with.
Click Program/Verify button
Device will Flash the hex and you will see a script saying Verify running. Once you see Verify Started you good to go. the software has a slight bug that usually wont complete verify,
but your safe to remove the device and USE your hex.

Nice one mate, Im happy with mine too.
Now though with hermes, games that gave controller detection errors (f1, nba etc) can be played so im waiting patiently for my upgradable p3free to come as I'd like to give them a try.

And yeah im ready to flash Hermes on this device, but im just waiting until my new hard drive ships so i can start backing everything up.
Im waiting for a more stable version of hermes to come out since like every day seems like major breakthroughs are being put out

Random question sorry if ive misread posts. You say you bought one but never received one from lightake? is it possible this is the one you bought from lightake and not the samples patrick sent out? just because patrick wanted to send them all out together p3free+ programmer + p3???

Yeah I'd like to know the same thing. I don't think this is the free sample we'll get because in the video there's only p3free and programmer. I didn't see any other secret mystical p3??? device.

Now that I think about it, youre right
Theres no programmer nor p3
I thought this one was different because its different from the sample pictures. =(
Now I look like a baffoon LOL
Well the video still stands, guess I just gotta edit the video to say it actually is the final product and thats the way its shipped.

Just found the receipt in the package
Im sorry, but the way they send it is in a bunch of white wrap and i didnt even know it was in there!
Guess i wasnt so special as i thought and this is the one i paid for =( lmao

Sorry about the confusion. ALOT was happening this week. I ordered the P3Free, but was getting sent the "F". So i pm'd patrick for the "F1" upgrade. Then got accepted for the P3free + programmer + P3 and I just sent him my # and everything and the package came with my # on it so I thought it was him. Didnt know what package i'd recieve first. And I did the video at 5 in the morning.
