Patrick! Why wasn't the information about needing a PIC programmer to update relayed to the public earlier on? Why wasn't it made to be updatable straight from USB without any other concerns?
I think this will detour many consumers away because there's another thing that has to be considered. I was even thinking about this one but I have to admit that the PIC programmer separate will hurt in comparison to some of the other clones that will need only a straight update from USB port.
I agree it is pretty crappy to mislead people. I have ordered one of these. I am not going to return it cause soldering a simple switch is nothing but having to buy and extra piece of hardware is kinda crap.
