Anyone seen this problem? Doesnt show up in My Computer or Disk Management. Yet it installs the driver in Windows 7 and said the USB generic hub is installed and ready for use.
Im plugging it into the PC as it says there is no firmware on the media storage.
    Can anyone help out?

    Cheers

Why do you need it recognised in Windows? It will only beep indicating the usb device has been plugged in. It won't show anything in My computer, as this is not a pendrive or anything. It's just a programmer board.

That is becouse the p3free is not a usb storage device, you need to copy the update files or homebrew files you wish to install to a usb storage device and drop them into the root directory. device must also be formatted in fat32.

thanks a million ozmod, really appreciate it.

guys can i be clear on this. do i need to have the fw update on a fat32 formatted drive or key and have it in the ps3, i get that part, but what order? Do i firstly need to go through the steps of booting with the P3Free in, or do you only boot the PS3 with P3Free in after you have tweaked the firmware?

yes forget about the p3free put it aside get a usb storage device formatt it in fat32 download the 3.41 update heres a link http://www.p3free.com/download/P3_V3...P3FREE.com.rar extract that into the root directory of you usb storage device. boot ps3 up insert usb storage device. go near system settings and install the update from the ps3 menu then when its finished unplug storage device and put the homebrew apps you wish to install the .pkg files into the root directory, then power cycle ps3 insert p3free boot up with power and eject then go to game and install package files and install the homebrew from the usb storage device once it is jailbroken you can remove the p3free make sure you don't shut down your ps3 with it still pluged in as it can fuk it
