its not clear post anything in that chip
Hi guys ! I`ve got also the "F" version , and i`d like to upgrade it but i do not know how to use the "upgrade port " on it. Can someone help me please ? Thank you !
guys you have to post whats on chip otherwise no one can help on this .
don't need to open up to see if usb upgradeable.
if only F, first version, fpc upgrade only -> contact team
if F1, then it is with bootloader to enable usb updates.
edit: users pm me about how to upgrade yourself:
if you want to upgrade this yourself and do not want to wait for the programmer ( see http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66276 (the solution for the "upgradeable" issue)) then you need a pic programmer and some soldering to make the programmer pinheaders connect the fpc flatcable of the p3free.
the FPC ICSP port scheme is at http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66118 (DIY your stable P3FREE with a PIC2550-SOP28 chip !).
do not forget to verify the pins with your programmer, mine had different order so i had to remap before the connection was correct.

Im from Argentina, there is a way to buy one?
Hi,
I hope to get my P3-free today.
How do I get games from my PC to the internal drive? Do I have to FTP them there?, or is there someway of copying from the external to the internal?
Also while on the subject of FTPing, Obviously we need to connect the PS3 to our networks, which have access to the internet. Is this a problem? will it try and update me to latest firmware? Also if I want to stream from my PC across the network, is this a problem if internet connected?
thanks
Hi. I'm new to the forum.
Been checking p3free out, but I can't seem to find which chipset it has.
I know it's upgradeable, but I would like to know the chipset capacity and model.
Thanks.
Edit: found it. PIC (according to patrik's poor English). will go for another as I might just get one of the early models.
