So I got the replacement dongle and programmer.

My original on was a 2++ with firmware F and has a PIC18F4550 chip.

I then reprogrammed it with this hex: P3FREE_V2.0_PIC Firmware [F2,NOT NEED BD TO BOOT] for PIC18F4550 @ 12Mhz_USB Upgradeable.hex

and now everythin works fine and it's usb upgradable. NOW here's the problem. I was messing with different hexes to find out that I broke the bootloader on my new dongle.

This new on is version 2 which has a PIC18F4455 chip. The above firmware will not program succesfully and everytime I get verification errors.

I also noticed that the 2++ has 32kb flash and the 2 has 46kb(or 44kb not sure) of flash. Don't know if that matters though.

I hope someone can shed some light on the matter as I now have a new dongle which doesn't work..

buy a programmer.. since you broke it by putting different hex, you'll have to pay for a programmer to hard flash it..

    btw. PIC18F4455 has 24Kb..

I do have a programmer... I used it to flash the old 2++ dongle with it and it worked. But it won't work with the new dongle it get's verification errors when I flash.

I have 2 programmers and on both of them I get the same issue. Im wondering if anybody else has even tried to flash the new dongle with the F2 usb upgrade firmware.

I feel stupid I didn't try that oke so I connected it and after a couple of times it programmed succesfully. But when I connect it to the ps3 no led come up and it doesn't work... both of them don't

Even when I connect it to the usb loader and press the reset button my cmputer won't find it. No light. No hardware no nothing...

    I'm completly clueless...

Patrick do you know anything else I can try? If anyody has any though please share. I've been busy with the dongle far too long to get it working properly!

I programmed both dongles with winpic800 and both worked the first try.

So after many days and hours of work. I am left with 4 p3free dongles and 2 programmers al for the price of 2 dongles($60)

    Very satisfied with the support.

    Cheers!
