The PSFree also includes a long ribbon which plugs into the front of the unit.I guess the other end will plug into the pic programmer for updates(pic programmer not included).I'm looking around for a pic programmer and I see them for around $20 or as cheap as $10,but I'm not sure which ones are compatible. Some plug right into usb, others don't.
Like the PSJailbreak,a red light flashes as the PS3 boots up,and if you turned it on correctly a green light will flash.
The enclosed purchase invoice is labeled "PC Debug Kit".I guess to make it easier to go through customs.
Just so there is no confusion, the PSFree IS "Plug & Play" right out of the box.You will need to install "Backup Manager" using a seperate usb(alongside the PSFree).BUT if there are any updates to the PSFree you will need a "Pic Programmer".
