insert the p3feee to your PC, it should detect as one "generic USB Hub" , then you press the RESET button between 2 LEDs of p3free, your PC should detect it as one "HID-compliant device" now. then it mean your p3free is work correctly.
if not, then re-update it.
Then run Microchip USB HID Bootloader and load this hex file:
P3FREE_V2.0_PIC Firmware [F2] for the [F1] P3FREE update only_[NOT NEED BD TO BOOT].rar (This is what I'm not positive about because I have F0, please confirm this is correct?) --- yes, this HEX is for F0 also.
Next I will download from the P3Free website and put them on a thumb drive:
Backup_Manager_V2-P3FREE.com.pkg (Is V2 the one I want for F0?) --- yes
Finally, I will put the P3Free into the PS3 and follow the P3FREE user guide (http://psx-scene.com/forums/f179/p3free-user-guide-66088/) During the guide it has me install Backup Manager V2.pkg and P3-FTP-Server.pkg. Now I should be able to go to BM and backup a game to the internal hard drive.
My last question is can you load a game without a BD with games stored on the internal hard drive? --- without BD to boot is not fit with ALL games, with my testing it just can make the SMALL games work without BD, for the BIG games it wont work. you can try the small and simple games at this moment.
hey patrick i know ive posted this problem in several threads,my pc does not detect this device at all,seems to after flash to f2 something internally went wrong in p3free,either bootloader is corrupted or something electronic has failed,ive tried it in a pc and my laptop still no joy,as i said in another post ive had to purchase another jailbreak device because of this:(
Woohoo! I got my P3Free today. I was reading all the forums that had to do with F0 because that is what was printed on the order. However, my P3Free has a little sticker on the side with V2.0 typed and hand written below it in blue ink F2.
So my question is do I need to do any up the firmware updates? Or how can I tell what is loaded on there? Is it good to go right now?

I'm on the same page with you. Mine says F2 on the side and I am trying to figure out what version firmware is on it? But I'm not going to try and upgrade it if it works.Quote:
