    They come with PIC chipsets, here's what Patrick posted regarding the versions:

    2.0 ++: use 18F4550
    From what I've read, you can use a firmware made for any of these chips as they are interchangeable. I'm sure Patrick will post a new firmware with Hermes v3 soon.

    Patrick also had this to say regarding what hex to use:

    From what I've gathered, the hex needs to be compiled for MCHPHID Bootloader and the firmware's crystal oscillator value must match the crystal oscillator's value on your board otherwise the firmware won't run and may hurt the bootloader, so the value needs to be 12MHz for the P3Free. iLLNESS has created a thread (iLLNESS's PSGrooPIC Hexes and Information Thread)HERE with a bunch of useful information on this. He has some compiled hex files posted there but doesn't recommend using his hex's for use with MCHPHID Bootloader at the moment until further testing is done.
