Hermes This Hermes That??? –

I have read a lot of posts and still don't know what I have on my P3Free. When I got it the little sticker had v2.0 and F2 on it. My question is do I have "Hermes" on it? What ever that means. I am using Open Manger v1.16 but also have BM v2.0.
I'm trying to get SSF4 to work and these are the instructions I have read:
- I'm still running all my games from Games/LAUN12345/Gamez
- I just copied it to my external USB HD in the Gamez folder
- Opened OBM 1.13 and tapped r2 to enable the hermes patch
- Loaded SSF4
- Worked Perfectly
I have pressed R2 and it says patched mode and anytime I try a game that way it says EBOOT error or something like it.
So does my P3Free have hermes?

I believe Hermes is just a name for a psgroove fw.. Hermes v3 being the newest version. Your p3free wouldnt come with it installed.
It's optional to install it in place of what ever there default hex is...
Your v2.0 F2 just means its capable of upgrading through usb port (no need to use a pic strip method)
I havent been able to figure out how to install Hermesv3 yet on my p3free (I have a v2.0 F1)
People like modpro are looking into it. Not sure if we have to wait for p3free ppl to make a modified version of Hermesv3 for the free

Thanks. That makes some things clearer. Has anyone been able to get SSF4 to work with their P3Free? If so, how?
Anyone know what hex comes on the P3Free as the "default"?

P3free's newest fw allows you to play your games without needing a blueray disc in. If you playing that way, yours came with the newest hex fw..
To get SSF4 working, you'll need Hermes hex on your p3free. Hermes is suppose to fix the controller issue that some games have, like ssf4

If you have to have this in order to play games without a BD */app_home/PS3_GAME/ then I have this.
Is it safe to put the hermes hex on the P3Free, I mean, would it work? If so, which one and how would you do it?

Someone asked a similar question before and this is what patrick said:

So according to patrick, the F2 version is preflashed with the P3Free V2.0 Firmware which is the same as Hermes (allows BD emulation). We're currently trying to find an alternative to use since an official firmware with Hermes v3 payload hasn't been released. It's being discussed here: (How can I upgrade P3Free with Hermes v3?) , so watch for new developments.

There is a little sticker on my P3Free that has v2.0 on it. Does that mean it is a 18F4455?

Yes, I believe that is the correct chipset for V2.0, and firmwares should be interchangeable with all of these.
