Help Please...

I currently have 3.41 on my PS3. I am trying to install the 3.41 version from the PSFREE website. I downloaded it and unzipped to my flash drive. When I go to update firmware via storage device. I says no application update data was found, I checked to make sure , it's on the drive . Also the back up manager, same thing, can't load it onto the PS3. The drive shows up on the menu screen....WTF?

why are you trying to install 3.41 if you already have 3.41 on your drive ???

or is your FW a lower FW than 3.41 and you have it on a USB stick u mean???

If so; to upgrade to 3.41 fisrt download the update (which should contain a EBOOT.BIN file)

then create a folder on ur usb called "PS3" then create a folder in there called "UPDATE" (both folders MUST have CAPS) then place the eboot file inside

then try updating again and selecting storage media

I have 3.41 from sony, but the tutorial from P3FREE site says you need to download and install their version for the P3FREE to work . Don't know why.
I did, but their download does not contain a EBOOT.BIN file.
It says PS3UPDAT.PUP

if you have 3.41 FW on your PS3 there is no need to update it bro it wont update because you already have 3.41 just carry on with your Jailbreak...

the 3.41 update is a PS3UPDAT.PUP ............

Create a folder on the storage media in which to save the update data. Using a PC, create a folder named “PS3” on the storage media or USB device. Within the PS3 folder, create a folder named “UPDATE”.
You put the PS3UPDAT.PUP in the "UPDATE" folder
If the data is not saved in the correct way, the PS3™ system will not recognize the update data. The folder name must be in all uppercase letters.
Location: Save in the “PS3” folder > “UPDATE” folder
File name: Save as file name “PS3UPDAT.PUP”.

But as i said you already have 3.41 on your ps3...

you're good, u dont need to install their 3.41 its the same thing as yours
so go ahead and feel free to order ur little p3free now lol
