F, F0, F1, F2 Firmware
F, F0, F1, F2 Firmware –

I was somewhat aware and familiar with the different F's. F can't USB upgrade, F1 can. On my purchase order receipt from ic2005 it says, "P3Free Kit (F0 firmware)". So what does F0 mean? If someone has a minute, could you please explain the differences in F's and what upgrade should be used and what does an upgrade change? I would really appreciate it and I'm sure it would help other people to understand also. Thanks

According to the official site, the "F0" version is upgradeable via USB. Read more HERE.

So I went to "here" (http://www.p3free.com/upgrade.htm) and it said:
#4. Click the "Open Hex File", select the right firmware and open it.
(NOTE: WE DON'T OFFER ANY FIRMWARE , PLEASE GOOGLE IT, LIKE THE PSGRROVE FIRMWARE)
Can anyone explain what that means? So I have an upgradable device, but I don't know what I need to upgrade it with because "We don't offer any firmware". Hmm...now I'm more confused than ever.

They forgot to add bootloader to "F" version so you cant upgrade with usb. You will need a pic programmer to upgrade version "F" to different firmware.

If you have version "F" this upgrade method will not work with usb. If you have "F1" version or "F2" you can upgrade with usb using the method on the site, you can use any compatible psgroove .hex
